  1. Most managers probably wouldn’t have been able to assemble the squad he has. He’s a big part of why we’ve got the players.
  2. You make a good point about Windass doing the full 90 @Tank_Owl2,0but as see his options are Sow over Paterson (who played yesterday) I think he’ll risk Windass for 60. Maybe Windass off the bench would be the better option? Accept that you try to keep it tight for an hour and bring Windass on with others, to go and win the game. I like that we have options, though having Smith would be preferential. Hopefully Saturday will see him on the bench but maybe another week.
  3. I think Adeniran for Vaulks, otherwise I your Moore’s Team is spot on.
  4. Out: Eisa £2m MKD In: Bishop £2m ACC (now PMP) Revised Team Defence Wednesday £9m hardie Plymouth £2 deign Exeter £1m Bishop Accrington (PMP) £2m vokes Wycombe £2.25 collins Bri Rov £1.25 gregory Wednesday £2.5
  5. I think I won 1-0 today Reesh. Hardie for Plymouth and Wednesday defence. Should be 6 points I think.
  6. We didn’t play well but we won. That’s what teams who go up automatically do. As we never got going at all in the first half, I have a tendency to agree with Bri, that perhaps our first half lethargy was intentional. Charlton looked to tire as the game went on. We looked dreadful with the ball at the back in that first half and so didn’t get any of the midfielders into the game. The subs made a real impact. Both Byers and Bakinson were lively. It’s such a luxury to have 6 good central midfielders to choose from. Overall I’m pleased with the start to the season
  7. I agree. Plus we’ve had a few games to get going, so we should be at it. One of those days where you need to get hold of the ball and make the opposition do all the running. It’ll be hot out there. Think I’ll pay the Fanzone a visit too.
  8. I think he’ll start with Palmer or James at LCB and bench Iorfa. As Byers started midweek, maybe Vaulks will get the nod.
  9. Pretty much what we expected but I’m gutted for the lad.
  10. You’re right. He won quite a bit with Rangers and some bits n pieces in Qatar
  11. We’re swapping the one out at Woodhall soon. Loads of services being expanded in terms of charging capacity. The main CPOs have some wild targets to add new charge points over the next 2-3 years. I need to order my EV at some point. I bought a hybrid recently, so at least I wasn’t turning up to discuss green energy in my 3.2 litre Ford Ranger. Now I need to find something suitable with a range over 300 miles.
  12. Didn’t Warhurst win Prem and also a few ex Owls who won the old First Division with L**ds? Sterland won a few with Rangers I suspect.
  13. Got our tickets this morning. It’s good to have some games with large allocations early in the season. Not sure I can muster the enthusiasm to drive back from Peterborough on a Tuesday night though. Will leave that game for the hardcore.
  14. 20 minutes aside, it wasn’t a great performance or game. I think MK makes a good point about the heat. Players on both teams looked leggy. Positives were we won, kept a clean sheet, the back three looked better without Iorfa. Stockdale did well and last season we probably didn’t win that game. FDB keeps improving. The negative was another injury. I thought he looked half decent there. Strong and positionally aware. It looked like the sort of thing that keeps our players out for a good couple of months.
  15. We’re awash with good options in the centre. I think we’ll see more 60 minute games from him this season and dare to suggest rested occasionally.
  16. Let’s hope it’s a great day out. Last weekend was miserable, weather wise so I’d like a second chance at that opening day of the season feeling. I just hope we perform like we did here last season. Dele-Bashiru was an absolute beast that day.
  17. Couldn’t agree more. Both re the decent article shocker and that Byers started the game superbly on Saturday and we started to lose the midfield battle when he couldn’t put himself about as much. In terms of the formation question. I’d like us to be flexible when needed but think we look great going forward in our current formation, so I’d like that to be the focus. However, the back 3 need to be able to play it on the floor, ideally at least one have a left foot and there needs to be one leader in there. Iorfa can’t pass the ball at all and he’s not comfortable with the ball. He’s an amazing last ditch tackler. He doesn’t suit our system. Maybe at the centre, but not the right side. When he played right back when he joined he bombed forward, but never with the ball under control. As others have suggested, I’d have Famewo on the left of the three and Iorfa on the bench. I’m guessing Famewo could play LB if we wanted to be versatile and switch to 4 at the back. I think Dean, Storey and Gibson (were he not made of porcelain) as a 3 was stronger than the 3 we have now, in terms of suiting our system. We could do with someone else as an alternative for Hunt, to save his legs. Maybe someone else up top (or “up the top” as some twit on Radio Sheffield insists on saying) but I think in general our system suits our attacking players much more than our defensive ones. The back 4 (Inc Keeper) on Saturday didn’t work. It didn’t work for the second week in a row as we shipped 4 at Wigan. On Saturday our weakness was exposed easily and repeatedly. That should have corrected in our tactics/formation after the first goal but our inflexibility in our system / manager meant we allowed it to persist.
  18. That’s amazing. Thanks for confirming. Let’s hope we come home happy.
  19. Do we know roughly how many we’ve sold? Looking forward to it
  20. I thought there might be but couldn’t find it. I’ll dig it out and delete this one. Cheers.
