  1. It was two bottles of pop thrown from the kop by kids immediately after we’d conceded the second. One of the bottles was empty, the other had some in but no lid on. Their keeper turned round and applauded them until it dawned on him that he might be able to get the game abandoned so he went flouncing off up the pitch to tell teacher. At one point there were three people stood next to the hoardings by the kop who came down the ramp on the south. The lad in the yellow top was clearly struggling to keep himself off the pitch. Another awful decision from that trio of officials and I reckon at least one of them would have been chased around the pitch; whilst the Benny Hill theme tune played in the background.
  2. Without question, the worst officiating display I’ve seen. All three were garbage. Iorfa should be made to walk them all through the streets of Sheffield, in their full kit and boots First 20, we looked decent, the last 20 the same. In the time between we looked lost and too many players had poor games a la Barnsley. Credit to them for getting something from the game. FDB was totally ineffective today, so I wasn’t surprised to see him pulled. Byers and Bannan deserve the credit for getting us back into the game Moore at least influenced things positively again but we’re weak as fuck at times defensively.
  3. Decent side with plenty of options from the bench plus Paterson.
  4. I bet whatever Peter Atherton is doing now, he’s still pointing off into the distance and blaming someone else. Julian Watts and Simon Coleman were next level shit
  5. A few small recent additions. Nobody_Here, Fintan Switzer and Sablo Mikawa.
  6. This is mine. I neglected to do final transfers. Defence Wednesday £9m hardie Plymouth £2m Nombe Exeter £1.5m Bishop Portsmouth £2m Brown Exeter £1.5m collins Bri Rov £1.25m gregory Wednesday £2.5m
  7. One of the best we’ve seen. We had the pleasure to see some great players in the early 90s. I remember thinking when we qualified for Europe that this would be what it would be like for years to come. How naïve I was.
  8. I think he started their first couple of games and was subbed off both times, as they shipped a few goals. Since then he’s been on the bench. As you say, it’s a shame. Hopefully he’ll work his way back into the team.
  9. I said this some time last season. What he’s done for the club, in terms of the squad he is able to put together and the togetherness he’s brought not only in the players but the club as a whole, is fantastic imo. He’s given us a culture and some pride back in ourselves He can continue to do that long after he ceases to be our manager, for me. I agree that he has his failings as a coach, limitations tactically. He would be wise to fill those gaps by getting someone new into the coaching team who can assist him in that regard as it would be a shame to lose him from the club because he lacks in some areas
  10. Likewise. I’ve always loved this sort of info. Hopefully we’ll boost both home fans and away fans numbers today.
  11. I think I only went it once. It was before the Wimbledon game in the FA Cup in the 90s. We lost, so I probably considered it unlucky thereafter.
  12. I’d let him go. If Grimsby can’t afford a fee, whack a high sell on % in the deal, therefore if he does well, we might make something in the future. I’ve not seen a lot from him that makes me think we’d ever see him in our first team, especially as there are 6 ahead of him. Time to let him get on with his career, playing first team football IMO.
  13. You’re probably right. Any opportunity to make some more money. I don’t doubt a few would want him but I get the impression he’s happy and I’d fully expect him to be offered a new contract some time this season. FDB is the one we’ll have most difficulty with
  14. It’s no surprise. He’s a stand out in this division. Hopefully we shouldn’t have too much issue turning down bids and keeping him happy?
  15. I think someone had a really weak header that was off target. It was a non-contest from the start IMO. They put us under no pressure at all and before they knew it, the game was over. We didn’t need to play particularly well but the goals we scored in the first half were of our creation, not their mistakes.
  16. That was a walk in the park. Comfortable from start to finish. Some very well worked / taken goals too.
  17. I appreciate this update. I realise it’s based on the sometimes scant information we get on the injury front but you do a good job of gathering what we have.
  18. It doesn’t do a great deal for the argument that we have the better coach because I would argue that we have the better squad. I’d say their being in 20th place doesn’t do much for their case that they have the better coach however, for surely they should be performing as Rotherham are in Championship, were that the case.
  19. Good luck to the lad. Thankfully its a disease with a good survival rate.
  20. He attracted players who had offers in the Championship which I suspect would have paid them the same or more and, as Owling says, last season we were restricted as to what we could spend.
