    Definitely, they over achieved last year, and that’s before you consider them losing two of their best players. Feel a bit sorry for folk like him that have been involved in a club for so long, are asked to do a job they shouldn’t really be doing and then are out of the club when it inevitably goes pear shaped.

    There’s a “national police response”, so assume the impact might be felt nationwide. Brighton Palace has been off a while apparently because of the rail strikes. Although they’re now cancelled it will remain postponed. It feels a little convenient that Chelsea Liverpool is off after talk that a factor in the whole weekend’s postponements was fears that some fans wouldn’t be respectful. After all, you know what those Chelsea fans can be like.

    Had a quick flick through their lineups earlier and noticed Brennan has been getting little or no game time at Swindon. Be a shame for him to stagnate after he showed promise for us last season.

    I don’t get the fuss over Gordon. Saw this morning there’s talk of him joining Chelsea for £25m plus Gallagher and Broja. I don’t think he’s better than either of them so no idea how they’ve worked that out.

    I don’t think anybody thinks him spending some time talking to a kid is a reflection of his ability as a manager of professional footballers. Nice thing that he didn’t have to do though, that’s all.
