  1. I wish I was banned sometimes as I can't help but get drawn into long heated arguments. I kinda enjoy it tbf but often look back and think what the hell did that achieve and that I've just wasted a couple hours of my life.
  2. Spot on The lack of accountability and understanding for any knock on impacts or alternative suggestions just demonstrates how childish and naive this group. There's zero thought process of any collateral damage from their actions. The simple fact they deem it their responsibility to ridicule, bait and humilate our current owner into selling but take zero responsibility in sourcing a buyer. and now we have some young kid singing their song but its nowt to do with them apparently The base position of a fan is to support the club, and by association fund the club, to deviate away from that should take some pretty substantial justification. Every gripe they have has been proven to have very little substance. But yet they continue with catastrophising absolutely fucking everything to make Chansiri out as some evil oppressor we must rise against. Which could actually be quite dangerous when you consider the suggestible segment of fans. All this whilst ignoring all the many positives with our team, manager and finances. Honestly I've never been more fucked off with a group of fellow Wednesdayites in my life. Let's just get over the line Saturday and they'll either go away or make fools of themselves over the summer.
  3. I can vouch for @bazapeps as I know him on a personal level, he's actually one of my best mates, we just see this issue completely differently. He won't condone what that kid did for the right reasons, nothing to do with the perception after the event in his case, that I can assure. I live in hope one day he see's the light and stops associating himself with the children's club mind.
  4. This is what riles me up We're at the point now anything Chansiri does that isn't an A+ will be villified and used as confirmation bias to try and promote further protests. For example most agree ST phases aren't ideal, but they'll use every phase from now on as a way to pretend its a new reason for outrage. Using late phase South Stand for their points and ignoring the fact that every single one of us had the chance to buy at £460. I did at first think they mean well but were just very childish, naive and misguided but now I think it's becoming clear their motive is more about their ego. The reality is though a large section of their support was based on a big % of fans swayed heavily by the most recent results. Get over the line Saturday and it'll be quite funny watching them make fools of themselves over the summer trying to drum up support.
  5. I really hope not - but as you say they're probably too invested now. The only reason they got any level of traction was because of results. Get over the line Saturday and let's see them try and do something in the summer, I think it'll be quite funny when they realise how little real support they actually have.
  6. Let's get over the line on Saturday and hopefully this group will fuck off forever
  7. In fairness to OT, most of the posters sided with Chansiri on this one, albeit with some predictable exceptions.
  8. I feel the need to highlight my intended sarcasm in this post
  9. Nope, he gets critcised for appointing Xisco and criticised because it's theoretically possible Rohl could leave us one day.
  10. Exactly Every phase has been a £25/£35 increase, £1 - £1.50 per game Probably will be for the next one too The idea this is something to be outraged and offended by is fucking exhausting The type of bullshit whinging you'd expect from the pigs but not us, sick of it
  11. Not a new reason for outrage imo, minor increase on phase 3. Multiple and short phases are the valid criticism but seeing the usual shite on twitter and OT to suit the whinging narrative.
  12. "Rohl is going to walk because of the facilities"
  13. It's gonna be the same crap constantly from now on isn' it, every time a club gets bought or invested in it'll be used as justification for protesting.
  14. Yeah thought the same. The more I think about this, they've had to crowdfund all their protests so far and people will at some point stop donating if nothing changes. Hopefully Chansiri realises this and is why he's staying quiet. It might pick up again if we go down - but if we stop up the liklihood is they peaked at the Birmingham game.
  15. Does the FFP three season loss rule reset upon promotion/relegation?
  16. Sounds like every Owlstalk thread. I don't know why I put myself through posting on there sometimes, I'm like a moth to the flame.
  17. I agree We've had bad results under Rohl already and he has always overseen a reaction We'll stop up
  18. After the Plymouth win, if someone offered me that table after these two games I'd probably have taken it.
  19. Sorry mate but I just read all this as noise with some nice buzz words. For people to back your cause, you need to be specific and say exactly what you want to see from the current or new owner, and crucially specify how those things are balanced with ticket prices and FFP.
  20. To add to this, on the topic of phases I messaged Chansiri on LinkedIn about them, amazingly he's polite and open when not being harrassed and ridiculed. He basically said whenever season tickets are on sale for a longer period of time people wait until the last minute to buy them, which is why he does phases. The idea is the same as any short term sale - to try and create urgency. I'm still not convinced it's an optimal way of selling them or the need for so many phases, but I recognise I'm in no place to kick off cause he has the data and there is obviously some logic behind the decision. The most important fact is £460 for an adult season ticket is reasonable, whether we have a day or a year to buy one, we've done early bird for a decade, £460 is the only price that matters for comparison.
  21. Think this is fair As I said earlier in the thread, my experience and that of up to 10,000 others was... "oh season tickets are back on sale" logs on buys season ticket with card (via PayPal) gets on with rest of day Most of those people couldn't give two fucks about using PayPal or future phases.
  22. Season tickets - I agree re the multiple phases feeling silly, especially if we'd gone through the pre Xmas one and I also agree the later phase pricing are very poor. But the facts remain, we have early bird every single year, and we all have the opportunity to buy at similar prices to 10 years ago. So it frustrates me when people use South Stand phase 64 prices to form their arguments. The comparison to our prices a decade ago is a valid point, because rightly or wrongly we've always been one of the more expensive clubs. It would make zero sense to purchase a business and reduce cashflow when fans have consistently shown we are willing to pay upper end. It would be really stupid of him to sell season tickets at £300. So again, the fact we all have the option to renew at similar prices to a decade ago shouldn't be overlooked. Card / Cash payments - agree it's enough to raise an eyebrow and question the club. But my experience and by the sounds of it 10,000+ more was to log on, select season ticket, pay with card via PayPal and job done, no dramas. Perhaps we don't have the same protection with PayPal, I honestly don't know, but given we've had one season in living memory (since the war maybe?) where we couldn't attend games then I won't lose any sleep over this risk. Gregory / Marvin - Like I say, all businesses have some form of wastage costs. I don't think Gregory's wages for a few months (he may still end up playing a part) are particularly significant in our accounts. Also Marvin has been excellent since coming back into the team so it worked well not getting shut when Xisco was here. In terms of the common theme, we had it with Westwood and Hutchinson, with two separate managers, but they were always brought back in when we made a management change so that would suggest it wasn't Chansiri's doing. 2m a month / tax bill - sounds like we're in agreement so I won't labour on this point. His PR is awful, he's overly emotional and over explains himself, I wish he would let someone else do the media as it can be a bit embarrassing. I'll put some of it down to the language barrier (esp £2m comment) but that isn't an excuse for everything. Xisco / DM / Rohl - it probably was as simple as seeing Xisco was cheaper and had a Championship promotion on his CV. Either way he corrected it and the current team are no doubt costing a lot of money. I was neutral to DM leaving, thought he deserved a shot but didn't think he was a particularly good manager, and it sounds like he was trying to be very greedy money wise. The media outbursts were embarrassing but would easily be forgotten in happier times. Accounts - Of course now with the benefit of hindsight we wouldn't have 'gone for it' in 2015-2020 and would have invested that money in the club's infrastructure. But he took the same approach many clubs do, it just didn't pay off for us. There was always going to be some pain if we didn't make it. Now that pain has come in the form of interest payments, but we still have plenty of FFP wiggleroom. So I don't think it's an immediate concern unless he wants to try and claim back some of the capital (if that's even possible). The fact remains we are operating a lot more sustainably than most championship clubs.
  23. 100% I read on OT all the time things like "I'm baffled why 'they' think this", "idiots", "thick as mince" etc. Without any attempt to offer balance or even try and understand things from other perspectives, so debate is pointless. Try and offer middle ground and you're labelled as 'pro-Chansiri'. As you say it's become an echo chamber for one side. I think proven by every single other platform having a more critical stance on protests. From my short time here I can at least see arguments (mostly) go along the lines of "I see why you'd think X, let me put another way" As has been alluded to, and I've said this to Jim on Twitter, I don't doubt the good intentions of the group. I just think they're very misguided and tunnel visioned.
  24. Definitely seems a theme here which I think is, a lot of the 1867 concerns have some validity, but when you strip behind the surface you realise just how little substance there is and how much catastrophising is going on. Season tickets a good example, maybe I imagined this but I renewed my season ticket for £460 the other week, which was only slightly more than it cost me before Chansiri came. Way less when inflation taken into account. "but you can't pay by card"... well actually you can if you use a system well established for 20 years Gregory another one, it's unfortunate he's frozen out on a human level and his wages are waste costs, but correct me if I'm wrong, most business have some form of waste budget, Escobar provisioned 10% for fucking rats eating his cash. "He told fans to pay tax bill"... but he paid a day later and was clearly posturing in retaliation to protests "He lied and said he was losing £2m a month"... when you read the statement it's very unclear what he was referencing, almost certainly didn't mean given he isn't losing that Appointed Xisco.. but then sacked him and appointed Rohl Got us relegated... but then gave Moore a massive budget for that league and we went back up Another loss in the accounts... ignoring that we're within FFP and very sustainable in comparison to most clubs Do I need to go on?
  25. How about a transfer policy more focussed on younger players with resale value? Investment in the strongest management team I've ever seen at Hillsborough Tieing down promising youth players to long term deals Operating the club comfortably within FFP parameters (something that can't be said for a lot of clubs) I'm not saying everything is sunshine and rainbows - but there is a damn lot to be positive about right now.
