  1. He needs to stop Musaba trying to shoot with a defender a yard in front of him and then 2 minutes later trying a cross with a defender a yard in front of him - just stupid decisions and at the very best we might win a throw or corner
  2. Wish we had a sub we could bring on that could change a game instead of someone like Wilks who’s only interesting in getting involved in petty squabbles
  3. Like Bellsview me and my mrs and step-daughter have been great friends with Steve and his family for many years now and are finding it hard to take in yesterdays truly awful news Have travelled with him and Hollie or met up with them at many many away games and me and him have been to loads of gigs together An absolutely awful state of affairs
  4. "La Celeste (Uruguay) lifted the trophy on home soil and also triumphed in 1950, famously beating rivals Brazil in the final" Not true - there wasn't a final it happened to be the last match in a final group
  5. We lost on penalties to Forest in the final Didn't Colin West miss one?
  6. Wish I had taken a bed sheet and pillow with me on Saturday
  7. That must be Palmer's worst ever performance and in 350 games that's going some. 110% abysmal. How bad must the options on the bench be for him to complete the whole game? Surely he can never play another game ever for anyone never mind us. At least he took the only 109% abysmal Smith off at half time. Playing him (presumably in case we get a penalty) is sheer lunacy. Having the vast majority of the team made up of the players who scraped to promotion from the First Divison was/is never going to work in the Championship. The average players from last season are now woeful players in the Championship and the good players from last season are now poor players. Surely he will be gone on Tuesday night if we don't get anything from the game in front of Sky's lowest ever viewing figures - maybe not at kick off but definitely by the final whistle
  8. My dad took me and my school mate to Stockport in September 1967 when we were both 12 to see Wednesday's second ever League Cup match We won 5-3 (McCalliog 2, Fantham 2, Ritchie) 15,065 Springett (Peter), Quinn, Smith, Mobley, Ellis, Young, Eustace, Fantham, Ritchie, McCalliog, Witham I remember Mobley was down in the programme as Mobberley - presumably because of the nearby village I'll be picking that same mate up tonight
  9. RIP Trevor what an incredible player - you just new he was going to get a quality cross into the box even if he was surrounded by 5 defenders
  10. yeah 1978/79 Played 9 games and didn't make it to the 4th round
  11. My mates favourite Wednesday player ever - something to do with him having £10 on him at 40/1 to score the first goal when he did My opinion - bang average mid 1st division squad player
  12. “Bradford City should be in the Premier League” good to see he has a firm grip on reality
  13. Out since February with a dislocated shoulder and an operation with 4 pins? The Grand Tour cycle lads (and lasses) dislocate their shoulder, shove it back in (usually themselves) in a minute or two and they’re back up and riding for another three weeks
  14. My Rotherham season ticket holder mate says: Ogbene Good on his day but very poor final ball. I am not too fussed about him leaving I think we can do better Brooke Norton-Cuffy Talented lad and no doubt will play in Prem league if he continues to progress ,still a bit raw but capable particularly going forward and is comfortable and pretty effective taking people on . Obvious he has been schooled at Arsenal but can overplay at times and defensively a bit naive . He seemed to suit Coventry more than us tbh .
  15. Millwall and QPR away are always on a Tuesday night
  16. My sister got married on 23/4/1977 The day we lost 4-0 at Palace - I was gutted I couldn't go to the match - one of only a few I missed that season Man Utd beat L**ds 2-0 in the semi-final at Hillsborough - all the groom's family were Man Utd What about this for a pic
  17. I used to take this to games on the bus from Rotherham in the late 60s It was used to advertise a big pair of Lucas headlights at the local garage - I painted on the white sleeves The hat and scarf were actually blue not black
