got to love these "professionals" in the commentary boxes
In the Argentina game neither of them had a clue how the positions would be worked out after they were level on goal difference and goals scored - presumably someone eventually passed them a piece of paper - then they only thought it went on bookings and didn't have a clue about red cards and how they were awarded
In the Mexico game when Saudi made it 2-1 they said it was "all over now" when in fact if Mexico had won 3-1 they would have been above Poland on goals scored
Ashley Williams’ comment on the yellow/red card assault while it’s on the screen in slow motion and the keepers’ foot is in the guys face and then he knocks him into the middle of next week
“he did catch him”
How much are the BBC, sorry I mean we, paying for his expert analysis?
There's a couple of unstoppable women in that New Zealand team
There was a slender England lassl trying to tackle one of those two and she was literally thrown up into the air and landed heavily from a great height but she just got up and carried on
A footballer would have been rolling about on the floor for hours holding his knee with one hand and banging on the floor with his other hand
Just watched the second semi-final and both semi finals have been sensational
Some saying Friday nights was probably the best Rugby League game ever
And today's finish was incredible
The first 1st Round Wednesday match I went to and our first since 1928 was home to Macclesfield Town 22nd November 1975
3-1 Prendergast, Knighton, Proudlove 12,940
A fantasic turnout considering our previous 2 home league games had 8,235 and 10,880
The ground they kept showing the inside of to show how bad things were in the 80s is actually Millmoor as it it now
They still play Sunday league games there apparently
Sounds like it
“Born in Neumünster, Germany, Smith moved to Britain with his family when he was a child. They anglicised their surname from Schmidt to Smith at this time”
I paid £35 for a seat opposite the 25 yard line and this was for a known totally one sided game so for the first half I hardly saw the ball at my end
it was easy to move into more expensive areas if you wanted to
there was 4,400 there and i have no idea if that was more or less than expected
if they had done a 3 match ticket for £50 say I would have gone to them all
I would go again next Monday but I think the prices are a bit steep and no concession for the over 60s/65s
I would have thought they would have made it more reasonable to attract non Rugby League fans especially in the group stages - could have done a 3 game ticket at Donny
