  1. That’s not how I read it. Assuming he was on a one year rolling contract, he wanted a 33% increase and a three year contract, I.e. 4 years current pay over three years. There’s nothing about what DC offered, if anything, or would have settled at. He put the onus on DM to propose something lower, something DC could accept.
  2. I’m in agreement. I know insufficient about Campelos to have serious negative views. BBM could be the up and coming coach / manager we seen y at other clubs. Of course he could be a dud, but I’d be content with his appointment.
  3. I have no inside info on ST sales, but would be amazed if we didn’t currently sell well over 80% of our STs in the early bird phase. If we were regulars in the PL, without any ground capacity increase, and without Chansiri managing demand through Arsenal style prices, I suspect that we’d sell out the complete ground with STs.
  4. I don't wish FDB any ill will but I suspect that in 18 months he'll be back in league 1 or, at best, at a bottom half championship team.
  5. In what way would Sunderland be a surprise package? Last season they made the play offs, didn’t they? So if Jobi thinks they’re not getting promoted, perhaps he thinks they’re a surprise relegation candidate?
  6. Isn’t it George Byers?
  7. Somebody say something? Takes EastCraigsOwl off ignore. 🤔
  8. All correct so far. Just e and g to get. Extra clue: one of them is a current player.
  9. 7 clues, 8 players. a) In the beginning God created a drummer, God save him. b) Without Mary, two out of three ain’t bad, but they still get annoyed. c) Whilst conversing with big plants, was good atop a van? d) Half the deserts’ water to end the fanfare for you or me. e) No sign of Peters, the Happy Birthday girl was his girl. f) I bet you’re wondering how I knew, without question, Elton’s lad. g) Lionel and family?
  10. So first weekend and five of the “big six” on TV. Unless you count Newcastle as the new Spurs, then it’s 6/6. Same old. Man City for the title again.
  11. Could it be that he’s just after the ground? Move the rugby club in and force/price the football club out?
  12. I thought he looked quite a decent prospect in the few games he played for us. Depending on his injury recovery, I’d get him a half season loan for a league 1 side until/from January. If he does well, he could be ready to replace Iorfa.
  13. You probably don’t know the answer to this, but I’ll ask anyway seeing as there’s loads of economists on here. How do you fail to make a profit selling, by the thousand, a product for £45 plus vat that costs <£5 (I’m guessing there)? Maybe it’d be more economic to change the shirt alternate years like we did 20(?) years ago.
  14. EPL starts week after EFL so us and pigs can both start with home games. I think we will get a local(ish) game: Hull City at home to start.
  15. I don’t think we’ll be playing anyone on 22nd June!
  16. The issue for me is the number of sales periods we seem to have had with all bar one seeing a price increase. I bought on the North for £485 (I think) - about £21 per game. So I’d be happy to see PotD average £26. But with so many increases as we get to another, but still not the final, sales stage, we are at about £31 per game. PotD has to average no less than £35. It’s going to affect not just the big game attendees (who I don’t care too much about), but also those who genuinely find it difficult to justify a ST: long distance supporters, those with limited budgets, those working midweek evenings or Saturdays. Those who would come to a few games are more likely to be put off by higher and higher PotD prices. We need to cut down on the number of sales periods: early bird (Jan/Feb), late season (Apr), and close season (Jun onwards) so that we can keep the PotD price realistic. A 10% increase per stage and my £485 would become £535 and top out at £590 (£26/game) allowing for £30/game average on the North. Repeat across the ground and the negative impact on PotD would be much reduced.
  17. I’d prefer a record low points total and a record earliest relegation confirmation. Imagine that. A few other records, e.g. highest PL defeat, would be a bonus.
  18. It’s not getting the game restarted quickly that was the problem. It’s when the ball goes in the crowd (happens quite often), play restarts with a ball taken from a cone, and then the original ball is thrown onto the pitch by someone in the crowd. It happened so often when we trialled multi-ball before that we soon scrapped the idea. I can’t see how it’ll not happen again in future. Multi-ball doesn’t work when the crowd is close to the pitch as at Hillsborough. It’s fine at the LL end when the lower level is empty, or when a stand is closed for an unattractive cup game. Regular games, nope.
  19. Will multi ball be compulsory? It was a fiasco when we tried it a few years ago. And it will be next time.
  20. I think who leaves depends on who we’ve identified and are confident of getting in. Near definite to leave: Stockdale, Hunt, and Brown. Probable departures: Adeniran, Paterson. Also FDB, but if, and its a big if, he wants to stay, and is only given a sensible deal (from the club’s perspective) then I’d keep him. Possible departures, provided we have a younger, better, upgrade lined up: Johnson, Gregory.
