  1. Good clubman, knew where the goal was but limited ability. Alway remember him getting the winning goal against Spurs to inflict their first defeat in the 60/61 season. 56,363 crammed into what was a 3 sided ground due to building work. I think MK said his mother was badly crushed on the Kop that day.
  2. I would replace our goalkeeping coach with Stockdale and keep Stockdale on the cover for injured keeper list.
  3. Massive turn out for League Cup final success and 1966 defeated Cup Final team.
  4. Should apply to fans supplying their obviously biased videos to get someone suspended.
  5. For headphones to follow this conversation visit the club's megastore on Moday afternoon.
  6. I read that North Chesterfield have a transfer budget of just £20M for the start of their Premiership season. Anyone else read this?
  7. Agreed the Wednesday 3 bet against the club once , As some confirmed Toney bet on many Brentford games.
  8. Kay, Swan and Layne bet on one match. Were all jailed and banned from playing for life. I know it was totally wrong but nowadays footballers on mega bucks get sod all punishment by comparison.
  9. I'm 75 in August. Not in the best of health so this team and certainly the manager are not likely to cause me blood pressure problems.
  10. It was a vile racist comment' I am glad the club responded that way. However the salient factor to me is that Moore has to go and that posts like the one the club have criticised may earn him more time which on ability alone he has had more that enough time to prove he is out of his depth, psrticularly tactically.
  11. It will be a highly important close season. With many players out of contract and a lack of willingness to use our youth players DC has a big call to make. If he keeps Moore and the first team coaching set up I fear a relegation battle. Honestly the squad is a spent force now. Recruit a new coach who is not solely dependent on one system and one system only. Not hamstrung by volume and other hackneyed terms. Aided by a suitable DOF -not Moore- and reset a long term, in club development system coupled with shrewd investment in transfers then we have a solid bedrock for development. This all needs to happen irrespective of whatever happens in the second leg.
  12. Regarding loan players and their impact. Plymouth showed how it could be done.
  13. I commented at the time of the Christmas window that Moore (who I have never rated anyway) would stand or fall by his lack of involvement in the Christmas window. He may have been correct in thinking he couldn't have improved the squad but we have an unbeleivable injury record in recent seasons. He seems reluctant to involve our youngsters (maybe rightly or wrongly) so extra bodies would have been handy to make up the numbers, especially as suspensions also hit in at the final part of the season. He , in my opinion , failed in his last window strategy. Also we have some players who seriously under perform in key games, to me, despite having a decent season otherwise, Dawson falls into that category. Hillsborough atmosphere on Thursday will be surreal to say the least. Hopefully , it will be the last time some of the wankers will be representing the club either on and off the pitch.Particularly the first team coaching staff.
  14. No 1 is Godfrey No 2 is Godfrey No 3 is..........
  15. Late 50s to mid 60s was very good. Got the players and the manager in 61 that would have brought us trophies However, we were deprived of that by the jealousy, selfishness and pigheadedness of Eric Taylor who was convinced it was his club and his club alone. Would have loved to study the accounts of that period
  16. At the right club I think Duncan Ferguson would be successful. Whether we are the right club, who knows?
  17. The best manager we've had in my lifetime was Harry Catterick. He took us to runners up in the old first division but needed a bit of cash (£60K) to finish the jigsaw and most likely win the title next year. The board agreed but the Secretary didn;t and he hung on to the money. Catterick walked and later won the title with Everton.
  18. The inactivity in the last window was either going to be a masterstroke or a total disaster. Injuries have plagued us for the last few seasons but one option, the youngsters have not been trusted. Instead we have discovered we have a set of mediocre back up players.
