  1. In light of the political news today - I reckon we should bring back Carlton Palmer
  2. Yep lets play fucking Hendrick instead - its served us so well to have past it players after a final pay check
  3. I would try and post something positive about us, but having pondered for 10 minutes I have given up.
  4. It's less depressing than watching the news.
  5. To add we have only won 17 drawn 19 so lost 49 A win percentage of 20% So good news Rohl is at least hitting that target. But we basically lose 3 games in each 5 we play which suggests we have been below Championship standard for a long time. So we can dispel the myth that the squad last year was that level. Equally if that squad was now in League 1, I have seen it suggested it would be bottom. My view, we would be top 4 still. Football is about margins, at present we are 10% say below the required standard. In League we would still be 10% above.
  6. Anyway who is ready for a depressing stat. Since the midpoint of the 2019/20 Championship season when we sat 3rd in the table, we have played 85 games at this level and amassed a grand total of 70 points.
  7. I actually think midfield is where we have relative strength but it's always been better with 3 in there not just 2 Was surprised that Byers got hooked assuming it was tactical
  8. The Geordies are playing a 17 year old. Why are we scared of playing him. It's not like any of the forward players deserve to start ahead of him. What I saw today was the ball fall to him in the box, find space, get efforts in. This is not pressurising him to be some miracle worker, and being in a losing team is a risk but why not. Its experience and why does that have to be out on loan
  9. Was offside and the lino did flag it apparently but even so. What Millwall did was a very basic but effective 4 4 2 and I don't recall them fannying about at the back. Simple stuff, what we need to do.
  10. I mean many will say never give up, some will be advocating Chansiri funds a splurge in January. But what if we did by miracles stay up, where do we go. Football is short termist, fans demand results today and that must have been awful to see in person today and it's easy for me from my armchair to say suck up more bad results now for better times hopefully tomorrow But it's also we need Chansiri to accept he is not the owner Wednesday need to lead this way forward.
  11. So where we do go from here. A game we thought based on recent improved performances we needed to win, we have comprehensively been taken apart by a mid ranked Championship side on our own patch. I mean we weren't unlucky, there was no bad reffing decisions (shout for handball but hardly pivotal), you can't really fault the effort levels. As KM says its just a lack of quality. I probably disagree that we would do poorly in League 1 - I simply think it's a huge step up in quality and there is a very limited scope to sort this out. Change Dawson, I have no confidence Vasquez would be better. Palmer at RWB, Valentin. I mean any side that starts Patterson is going to struggle. Let's be honest Johnson's status improved while he didn't play but reality hits when he does. Midfield actually needs 3 in there to stop getting swamped at times. Up front give me strength. Seriously Cadamateri has given more threat in 45 minutes than any of the rest. Can't put it on him to sort this The question for me is I simply would not waste money in January. We are so far off it and so short of quality everywhere I would conserve the funds. I would be letting a few go eg Fletcher and let's blood the U21s Lets accept Bannans time is up so we don't build the future around him. It's not about giving up just start planning now for League 1
  12. The one actual positive is I see the potential in Cadamateri. Certainly more threatening than the rest of em I have seen this season
  13. The other positive is we have a welcome international break so at least a week off this shite
  14. The only positive is that I woke up and half fancied travelling up. Luckily I slapped myself and decided don't be daft
  15. We can analyse as much as we want but it's as simple as that we lack quality literally all across the pitch. So whilst Dawson was culpable on the first then equally Vasquez would have stood on his line. The issue is more we have 3 big ***** at the back that permitted a free header, but the corner came from their player being free But none of our wing backs are remotely good enough - defensively or in attack We have a bit of quality in midfield but how many times are we out fought, out numbered in there. And up front fuck me its awful. That was such a straightforward opportunity and yet we miss the target. And at 2 down any self belief has gone. I mean that corner from Bannan. Millwall are a middle of the road Championship side and we are collectively 15% below that level
  16. He seems to mix up the subs to keep them engaged
  17. I think Smith got injured last week. Didn't really get mentioned, but I suspect that is the reason for the absence today. Cadamateri instead of Gregory (if no injury) is interesting to see.
  18. Not expecting any major changes in the line up, if Windass is fit then expect him to return for Gassama. Certainly need the win ahead of the last international break of the year to see we are chipping away at the gap Sounds like they won't adopt a sit back approach, see if we can get a grip in midfield which could be key here
  19. Looking forward to an action packed Saturday as the two sides go head to head in a heated rivalry But enough of the Sky Sports Marching channel coverage today of the shit happening in London I will stick with the football
