  1. To add I have no idea who it is, not listing the current managers either but it's a main story on the BBC News so the story as a whole is in the public domain now. By it's very nature its a high profile person. Of course these are allegations and thus innocent until guilty. But if its a civil case then the balance of probabilities not beyond reasonable doubt comes into play.
  2. So what sporting, cultural or artistic events are you attending over the next few weeks - or are you being forced to do all the DIY projects successfully put to one side for months. It is only 13 weeks for those counting and the football will not really stop with the Euros etc. It is good to have a break from the stress of following Wednesday but after a few weeks it's like what if it was like this all year. This is also a safe space, so if you are inflicted with oh FFS moments in your domestic life empathy can found. Enjoy the summer ☀️ all 3 days of it
  3. Like I say all subjective, but I suspect Rohl would not be wanting to go into next season with this squad and be expected to secure a play off spot Hypothetical anyway as we know there is likely to be a high churn rate with the contract position as it is
  4. So which Premier League boss is the one who appears to have been accused of historic sex offences in a civil case but the courts have currently granted an anonymity order. Appreciate the law here, but presumably if the offences were in the early 90s and presumably here in England there is a fairly small pool of possibilities.
  5. The worst pub I have frequented was one called The Oberon around that area, ok it was 30 years ago now but it was a shithole even for Hull The old town to be fair is actually pretty decent for pubs mainly because the local arsewipes and fish slappers don't frequent them
  6. I think he will win shal lot
  7. It's a subjective view, I base mine on games such as Middlesbrough when a lot went wrong, Stoke at home where we weren't clinical enough, the defensive mistakes v Norwich Take Coventry as a barometer - did we ever look like defeating them I appreciate you can cite other games where we won, the points tally etc Undoubtedly Rohl instilled organisation and belief which counts for a lot but the occasional basic errors in defence, together with a lack of quality in the final 3rd marks the difference. But it's all conjecture
  8. Tuchel is a good manager Ancolloti is a great manager One is in the final one isn't based on that decision And Neuer doing a great impression of someone Scottish
  9. I wonder how many Wednesday fans are posting online blogs about Barnsley I will give a range of between Nil and Zero
  10. I think it's going to be an interesting change on the EFL side of that equation. Not necessarily this first year as season tickets renewals will have arisen. But when you consider in the Championship you will see a minimum of 24 games for your team - at no extra cost if you pay for the full Sky Sports package. I mean let's keep it easy and go 50 50 on home / away that is half the games. Ok a lot will be midweek which is already a factor in some of us decision making. Half the Championship games per week will not be 3pm on a Saturday, this Sky Sports + service infers that the rest will not necessarily be unique kick offs. Can see it working like the FA Cup does, 3 different games at 5.30pm or Sunday lunchtime I mean nothing beats live football but is it worth 5 hours on the M1 ? Is it worth a 40 minute drive from Dronfield is perhaps more pertinent to the season ticket question. The TV contracts do change football and for the EFL this will be pretty seismic potentially, but who knows. For all the saturation TV coverage, crowds seem to be growing
  11. They are certainly making a sustained effort to go after the providers, indeed the law would permit them to demand the user lists. That would be interesting. I actually don't mind paying for decent content. Indeed if nobody did then would there be content ? One day they will turn off the satellite signal and it all will be streamed - but 1 minute delays, poor picture quality etc means the quality is diminished. Do people care, perhaps not these days.
  12. I am looking forward to Chelts 30 years ago thread for next season January 1995 -MKOWL leaves Hull for good - though I wasn't MK then and social media didn't exist - but apart from that !
  13. They did win the Paint Pot Trophy thingy (under their own name) but as we know that counts for nothing
  14. You see I didn't really see clinical Even in the last game v Sunderland it was modest margins that make all the difference - and the Championship you can very quickly go from winning 3 in a row to losing 3 in a row, with little difference in how you played It is like I say a very subjective view, I said we would finish 18th - 20th - that is where we ended up. But it was very chalk and cheese way of getting there. I don't think any of us would be thrilled if Chansiri came out, focused on the 2nd half of the season and said lets just re-sign all those players. Least thrilled would be Rohl
  15. I do get your point. On an objective test measure - ie points on the board then it stacks up. On a more subjective level, it never felt this was a play off capability squad. Put it another way, in a very hypothetical question, if we started next season with Rohl, this squad would you be confident of finishing in the play off positions ? I just judge this on how we performed v the play off contenders Leeds 1 point Southampton 0 point WBA 3 points Norwich 1 point But it's the manner of some of those defeats - we were so far behind them. This is not decrying their achievements, but it was done with a mindset of avoiding relegation. Job done. But to me there were too many flaws, weaknesses that would be found out. I mean the contract situation throws the debate out the window, but we saw an uplift in quality in January. That needs to be maintained but I look round the pitch and see several other positions that need it. More prevalent is I think Rohl realises it
  16. I think that is MK Dons 6th go in the play offs and yet to reach the final. I am not expecting much sympathy to that stat on here 🤔 It does not seem to have captured the imagination of the locals that's for sure
  17. Hi Danny I lived in Hull for many years. Its a strange place, they prefer rugby league, the women are looser than a B Diaby back pass, you say ja a lot they say ner. You only have to read the posts of Greno to appreciate the intellectual void there is and he is President of Mensa.
  18. Great stuff from Dunsbyowl. A much more sensible informative Wednesdayite to follow on X (We also share the exact same birthday and that our first game was v Bolton in 74)
  19. Interesting point but he did say that pre season and perhaps it was the January signings that made the difference and Rohl. As much as we under achieved with Xisco, I think we did overachieve somewhat with Rohl. And without improvement thereto I am not sure Rohl could maintain it longer term. My pre season estimate was about 18th to 20th - subject to signings - which is sort of where we ended up. But not quite the roller coaster way we got there.
  20. i mean the chap replacing him is hardly seen as dynamic But Moyes suffers from the fact that if you are never going to finish above 7th in your league then the fans want some decent style football to watch in exchange for the money they part with
  21. I genuinely question a lot of clubs - lets be honest Wednesday have been guilty more than many in this regard over the years - but even if they have spent a lot on wages etc I suspect its still less than the top 6. The expectations placed on these managers seems a tad harsh at times And as we know there is little guarantee the next one coming in will do better
