  1. You only get full stripes on here once you are permanently banned from there
  2. Welcome one of the sane posters from Stalk, we are all banned from there 😀. I find it very troubling if this has been photoshopped. Particularly these days as you are hung drawn and quartered on the presumption of guilt, lose your job etc. Don't get me wrong if these lads did it then every bit of shit they get will be deserved. But if they didn't then I suspect there will be zero apologies for them from those castigate them
  3. Apparently it's a new equality and diversity law that its mandatory to be excited about the return of the WSL. Or it might be Sky want you to watch the Ryder Cup
  4. The point I was making is that from that era we only ever hear the tales from the stoic lot that attended games still. There were probably 15k fans who simply stopped going. Clearly us being shit was one reason, but so was hooliganism, economic decline, rampant inflation. I think Wednesday fans are attuned to the ups and downs football brings. I laugh that my first game in April 74 v Bolton was a relegation avoided. I went when we beat Southend in 76. My baseline entry point was quite low really. In the main Wednesday fans don't protest, they turn apathetic and vote with their feet.
  5. Tbh Winco the 2 lads do - if they did it. The Club have condemned it, the fan base have and a Just Giving page set up as well. Be grateful at least they couldn't be on the Leppings Lane End
  6. I mean the bit I did read on Stalk on a closed thread suggested these lads are the type that could do it, not necessarily that they did. You almost ponder it could be a revenge scenario. As EBRA suggests a decent poster on Stalk states that a friend of his is shown in the seats behind on this pic - and didn't attend the game Friday. We need a VAR check ......
  7. I mean you are a twat if you did this. But if a person photoshopped it you are a seriously sick individual
  8. True and it's not like we have the athleticism to catch teams on the counter attack. So teams can get numbers in our half almost without risk
  9. Just old enough to remember the back end of this "tradition" in the late 70s. The North was probably sparsely populated in reality but with 5 minutes to go they would start to be lobbed. The ones from the back not quite reaching the pitch, the odd one getting the lino. Very famous picture of the end of the League Cup replay Villa v Everton in 77 with hundreds on the pitch. I think the deposit went up to stop the behaviour. The original padded seat, slightly different to the social media influencer that checks out corporate that uses that moniker
  10. I am looking forward to voting on September's goal of the month competition
  11. If you wanted to believe that corruption was rife and a few were in the pay of some Far East betting syndicates then there was some compelling, if not definitive, evidence. The red card for Jones was one of those i thought where the foot deflects off the ball, but again the replays shown on field did not appear to include the one Sky showed in the game What I can't grasp is that every goal is microanalysed to death to find ways to disallow it, but this was judged solely by the on field officials. Strange
  12. Not sure there is any evidence the money comes from TUF directly. Chansiri may get a dividend from the profits but his holding is less than 0.5%. There was talk of a construction business in Thailand But he could easily be the front for an investment syndicate, maybe involving the family. I still think peer pressure from Thailand is the more likely way he would sell up
  13. Everybody goes with the intention of supporting the team. Most the fan base are simply uninterested in off the field stuff until they twig the crap on the pitch is probably caused by that off it. Wednesday fans have always gone the apathetic route. I mean a few on here remember the mid 70s and it was worse then in reality than now. We hear the tales of those that went, the away game madness but never where the 15k to 20k fans disappeared. I do remember a Save Our Owls campaign in The Star that basically fizzled out. My formative years were played in the stadium with huge gaps on the Kop and the seats. Ironically no protests at football, probably because they were ten a penny in society as a whole.
  14. As daft as it sounds the impact would probably be modest. You should never conflate turnover with profit when it comes to merchandise and hospitality Ticket sales maybe but the vast majority of our turnover comes from season ticket sales, so already in the books for this season. Then TV revenues are pretty fixed - variable element may be lower as the season progresses if we are down the bottom. Home ticket sales are going to be low whilst ever we are playing poorly and bottom of the league. The hit will definitely be season ticket revenues for the 2024/25 season
  15. Don't disagree, it would be eminently sensible for the stadium to be wrapped up in any sale. My context is whether he could if he wanted detonate either
  16. I don't think he would ever wind up the company, he has put too much money in and he would probably get a decent sum even just selling the football side I still think it would be option 2 because he would get the rent at least or could sell Sheffield 3 with the commercial value of that lease the key determinant
  17. Crikey didn't realise Cheltenham have failed to score in the first 10 games. They needed us to be in the same league to break that voodoo
  18. Well he has 2 nuclear options Just wind up the company or Sell the football side and keep the stadium
  19. There is a clear dichotomy, you either have Financial Fair Play and try and get some stability in football finances (including ticket prices, merchandise and TV packages) or let it go to a free for all. Which fans will pay the price for and enhanced risk of clubs collapsing.
  20. I am not convinced he would talk to anyone unless he saw them as an equal in terms of wealth.
  21. If they get wages moving forward. Only Chansiri knows what he meant by "no additional funds". Simply conjecture as to what it means in practice. Only once in my career did my then boss suggest funds were tight and staff may not be paid in full. Jeez the reaction and metaphorical downing of calculators that caused. By the professionally qualified staff as well To suggest a professional footballer would not or should not be impacted by negative financial conjecture is a bit naive. To me that was a factor last night
