  1. I think at my age my only midweek travels moving forward be to the sofa to watch on ifollow
  2. Thanks Carlos, if I saw you I would always buy you a pint I would then get everyone to pass it sideways, then backwards, back to the bar person for 20 minutes before getting someone to bottle it big style
  3. Tbf 1200 of them are no longer in place in the NW corner
  4. Thanks chaps, another year older, certainly not wiser though. I prefer to see it as my 48th anniversary of visiting Hillsborough for the first time. In 1974 in case some smart arse says 1912
  5. Anyway I guess my Dad waited till HT to have a chat with the boss man, as apparently Moore went from his mild mannered self to full on bollocking during the interval.
  6. Going into the last game the only thing officially decided is Crewe relegated. Ok Donny are unless they win 18 - 0. But some stupidly mad fixtures on Saturday - Plymouth v MK, Gillingham v Rotherham, to name 2
  7. Is it a handicap race, just wondering if we are starting with Paterson up front
  8. Get in early as away for a few days. The Fleetwood game coincides with the 1st anniversary of my old man leaving us, the fella who guided me the right way to follow Sheffield Wednesday, well I think I thanked and cursed him equally. Anyway spare my personal indulgence to honour him and let's hope he can have a word 🙏 upstairs and put some inspiration into the words of Moore and the legs of our players. Life is a bit of an emotional roller coaster 🎢 at present, I made Reesh laugh by suggesting watching Wednesday is the one thing keeping me sane. So the next 2 games will tell us if we are still on the slope to the Championship or hurtling headlong to another League 1 season
  9. I don't actually remember thinking the title was ever on. Even if we had won, the fact Leeds played our nearest and dearest the following day, weren't we all convinced they would deliberately lose. Perhaps there was less hype in the media, if there was Sky that season it would have been different
  10. Not surprised, wonder if they will get Ismael back
  11. Yep that one, a breakaway goal, full run down the pitch, great shot that I probably saw going in before it hit the net.
  12. Sounds like i didn’t miss anything not seeing the game. The disallowed goal looks controversial, the ref will just say Dunkley was pulling over their player as opposed to him being pushed. All season we have struggled with these 3 game weeks. It starts with Moore changing the line ups. I fully appreciate why he does it, the logic of it, but frankly it seems to have an adverse effect on our performance than a positive one. We also have failed to come up with a productive plan to re think game strategy during games. Particularly where sides are just looking to stop our game. That is when you need a Nuhiu type character. You go longer to stretch the game. You can't also help think that the soft mental underbelly within the players is still prevelant a bit. Tuesday is a huge game
  13. Anyone else found that the new Gregory song has become an earworm. Found myself singing it as I strolled over to the photocopier yesterday. But have you ever created or do you think you should be credited with coming up with the words for a Wednesday song
  14. The Varadi goal is a folklore goal where I was in the stadium but never actually saw go in. First goal I ever saw Ken Knighton v Bolton 74 saved us from relegation I will go for another Varadi goal as well v Forest first ever top flight game i saw in 84
  15. Like anything these sort of deals either end up being a launch pad to success or an absolute disaster. Clearly if you get it right there is money to be made, status as an owner. Though you are moving into a world where what ever you do there will be 10 bigger fish ahead of you. But you can get ahead of the likes of Southampton, Palace I would have thought I don't know huge amounts about this bloke but I think they will be better placed to be successful than with the Bog Roll Prince.
  16. Tbf there are some very posh areas down the road from Wycombe, but the place itself is pretty multi-cultural urban hub. The father in law is still living in about 1974 when it comes to certain views and a few years back now may have used a derogatory term against a non white steward. I would like to think he is sorry but frankly that isn't the case. Ruddy irony given he is the least likeable of all my kids grandparents (divorced parents on both mine and Mrs Mks side mean they had 7) but he'll be last one standing way its going. The wife's step father passed away last Sunday. Scary shit there was diagnosis Wednesday gone 4 days later.
  17. I found winning at Wembley a far more pleasant day than losing
  18. Ok a bit early but with all these bank Holidays fuck knows what day it actually is. We enjoyed the day trip to Bucks last weekend so here is to a repeat this time as well. More a personal vibe on this one as my racist, misogynistic father in law who must be the only person to be banned by the Club will undoubtedly give me shit if they beat us. I appreciate its also vital for our promotion push 🙂 Anyway a tough old 6 pointer of a game
  19. Just the 31 years ago - jeez I am getting old - and still the highest spot of my Wednesday watching career. Come and have a Dink with us
  20. Crikey I am going to stick to the South Stand and hide behind me tartan blanket
  21. The behind the net in a goldfish cam showed the true horror of the misses. Great addition by the media team though
  22. Not a high benchmark I accept. Like Bannan can't fault his control but fuck me his passing radar after 10 minutes must have been jammed by the Russians or summat
  23. Pressure is a strange thing. That game was a classic where the danger was in the heads of our players, though definitely seeded by Tinkerman Moore in the first place. Plenty of other teams getting the yips around us, so those 3 points were vital. The early misses seemed to vaporise the confidence. It certainly did on the crowd and there was a degree of anxiety. I think it was on 75 minutes or so there was a silence, you could hear the players shouting. There was then we need to help here whilst frankly shitting ourselves, given the other scores were known. I still think Moore got away with those changes - that could have really backfired on him
