cheat
Welcome to this season's Who got us the points. The rules for Who got us the points are; In a draw. The player who scores the goal that secures a draw (our first in a 1-1 draw, our second in a 2-2 draw etc) is determined as having earnt us that point; or the defence in the case of a 0-0 draw. The defence's point is shared amongst the keeper and the defence. For a flat back four it is a straight 0.2 points each, for a back five it’s 0.2 for the keeper and the centre halves, and 0.1 for the wing backs. In the event of a defensive substitution if the substituted player has completed 70 minutes he'll still get the full 0.2 and the defender who replaces him won't get anything. Anything less than 70 minutes and he'll get 0.1 as will his replacement (or 0.05 for the wing backs). In a win. The player who scores the goal that made sure we got a draw (our first in a 2-1 or 3-1 win, our second in a 3-2 or 4-2 win) gets one point or the defence in the case of a to nil win, and the player who scores the winner (the second in a 2-1 or a 3-1 win etc) gets two points (as he turned a draw into a win). The Meaningful goals table will follow similar rules but the score at the time of the goal will be the key factor, so a goal that gives us a lead will earn the player two points, regardless of the final result, whilst a goal that puts us level will get a point. A goal that gives us a two goal cushion will get half a point, as will a goal that reduces the deficit to a single goal. Goals that put us three (or more) goals to the good will be considered as just the icing on the cake and won't be rewarded, similarly goals that bring us to within two (or more) goals of the opposition will be considered as mere consolations and hence also not credited. For this table cup goals will count. There’s no points onto the main table of course from the opening day defeat v Southampton; but Gregory’s equaliser gives him a point in Meaningful Goals. cheat
And we’re off. Our point at Leeds was down to our clean sheet. With a 5-4-1 in operation that means 0.2 points for the keeper and the three centre halves, and 0.1 for the wing back. With Iorfa coming on (just) before the cut off point, he and Paterson share the spoils for the right wing back slot.
