  1. I agree with that. However, I am still enjoying the fook out of last Sunday's win and day out, just in case we don't get anything else to celebrate! "Do it now." 😋
  2. Good shout. Yes, I remember that: not just cocky but obnoxious with it. An even better reason for not swapping places with them now. Or Dingles. Or Derby...
  3. He's finally seen the light of Rock Music??? 🤘 🤣
  4. What happened to the site's original one?
  5. Thought they'd packed it in? At least for now: waiting until the football pans out. An even bigger reason for us to hope that we stay up.
  6. No but we were very close once. During our two successive seasons as Champions of England, 1928-30, the ref. blew his whistle to end the game after the ball left our forwards head but before it entered the net for our equalising goal in the semi final. And you think refs have it in for us now?
  7. And he panicked. We were directly behind & above the centre of the goal and it was fascinating to watch, as if in slow motion! As spectacular (and entertaining) as I've seen from a keeper since Gary Sprake literally threw one into his own goal for Dirty L**ds long ago.
  8. Fatko said later that it never entered his head that we might get relegated. We only needed two wins from our last six games. We got one, and one draw. Absolutely amateurish by him in that degree. So quality does matter. However, I don't disagree with your points conclusion.
  9. Just think about it: from where he was and what he was feeling, then that wall of noise from the 7,000 washing over him. What an experience that must have been!
  10. Bastards! https://www.maldonandburnhamstandard.co.uk/news/24264865.canveys-dr-feelgood-stolen-van-recovered-chop-shop/
  11. The Haigh and Wright Suite All Wednesday, and football. Come and chat all things about the beautiful game in here. Named in honour of our former posters, ColinDobsonsLeftFoot (Martin Haigh) and Bricat (Brian Wright). (This is brilliant, Tee.)
  12. Absolutely 100% agree with Tranmere's statement.
  13. Unless I'm mixing him up he was a non-first team keeper in the mid-1960s I believe. I'm sure Andy will put me right if I am incorrect. (Tommy Craig the previous poster: not the actor.)
  14. RIP Bri. Sad news. I never met him. Don't even know what he looked like, sadly. There can't be many on here that played for the Wednesday.
  15. Someone who worked with me was on duty as a special constable that day and ended up being put on the door (of the gym?) where the families went to see the bodies. I remember that person being that affected by the experience that they never wanted to go to Hillsborough again.
  16. We were in Y6 too. Made sure I left it until after kick off for a slash to avoid a crowd at the lav. The only hassle I got was back at the Y6 barrier, from an idiot steward. As it was awkward to find our seats, I stood at the barrier and looked over to see where we were and what turns to make below. Jobsworth immediately pipes up with, "You can't stand there." I explained in a reasonable tone what I was (momentarily) doing and got, "Well you can't stand there!" So the only danger to me getting to my correct seat in a safe, controlled and timely manner was a home club fuckwit in a uniform, part of whose role is to assist me in exactly that. As it happened, I rushed it because of his unreasoning stupidity, went wrong at one turn and ended up moving more folks than I needed to. 🙄
