  1. RIP Trev. Wonderful football player.
  2. According to Joe Crann, there are no trialists with the squad.
  3. I feel exactly the same - no better than Cam, I'd say not as good so what's the point?
  4. I'm looking forward to seeing what Shipston & Fusire can do this season, the signs seem to be that they will be involved. I liked Fusire's comment the other day, something along the lines of "time to be a man, I don't want the senior players to make allowances for me as a boy training with the men's team, I want them to treat me as they do each other". It's a good attitude & hopefully he makes the progression.
  5. I'm not taking sides in the debate, it's one where you grab the popcorn and just watch as it is so funny, but lets just say that the Freds don't come out of it very well, not least because one of them is choosing to have this daft argument on Twatter...on his daughters wedding day.
  6. Dunno, his argument on Twatter with the Right Said Fred weirdos is funny as fuck
  7. James at Piece Hall Halifax last Friday night, superb gig. Had 2 good supports , Tom A Smith (I think) - good young band and he's clearly going places and Jamie Webster, Scouse singer/acoustic singing socially aware stuff, not as awful as it sounds tbh. James themselves were just great, such a fluid visual band and they played a great mixture of old album stuff and the hits. Outside in the evening sun, just a really good night. They played 2 nights and the following night was when the heavens opened, they had storms and had to stop the set for 30 minutes - luckily we didnt get any of that. A word for the Piece Hall - what a stunning venue it is, if you get a chance to see a band you like there I'd urge you to go. The money spent on the refurb of the place has been spent well. Also it's organised so well, no long queues for drinks/loos etc.
  8. As someone who stopped going a few years ago, still feels guilty about it and might start again if I can wean myself off sitting in front of the telly watching the Firestick with a glass of red wine...some of those prices seems reasonable to me. By that I mean, the range from £27-£36 on the kop seems ok, wouldn't put me off and even £42 for the right game could be doable. If he'd done away with the Band A pricing altogether and trimmed the levels a bit more in other stands I don't think the outcry would have been anywhere near this loud, although the usuals would still have been shouting. He'll never charge the top band, because that's for the do or die matches, and in reality when/if we get to those games, he nearly always decides(rightly) that he wants a full house and charges accordingly. If we're either playing a game to get into the play offs or avoid relegation there's no way at all he's going to be with the highest bands, it's just the optics to the world of having these price levels out there that's the issue. Last point, when he talked about beer prices at Tramlines at the forum, I wondered what was in his mind & thought it was about more than beer prices in the ground. But it's a false comparison. Tickets for a festival are higher because they last longer, have a range of entertainment and you're guaranteed to be entertained. Booze prices are because you're a captive audience, not because you gladly pay them. Pricing models like ours don't work because you're never guaranteed to be entertained, you can pay the highest prices for a mind numbingly crap game or the lowest price for an absolute goal fest and the plastic seat will be the same low quality. You also have far more choice about drinking, with several good boozers near to the ground selling great beers at good prices. It's easy to sink a few pints pre and post game and either hold off or just have one in the ground. I'm not " Chansiri Out" on this, Yes there are mistakes which I'd have hoped he'd have learned from, but as the season pans out I don't think that match day pricing will be too bad.
  9. Carlton Palmer David Hirst Chris Turner Great players often become absolute bell ends as they grow older.
  10. I don't care. Its brought up memories of Cheri Lunghi. Hmmmm Cheri Lunghi...excuse me a minute!
  11. I know it's a few days old but blast from the past and Wednesday hater Adam Le Fondre signed for Hibernian after leaving Sydney FC.
  12. I can't get too excited about any of this stuff, perhaps I'm just getting old. The manner of Moore leaving wasn't great, but managers come and go and DM got to go with his stock at the highest it would probably ever be at. DC will replace the manager, we will get some new players in and off we'll go next season. I don't think we'll go down, but until we know the full squad none of us can really judge, so I'm going to wait until just before the season starts before I get too mithered about our chances. As for the rest, DC ain't going to sell, no one is rushing to buy us either and if you take the DM departure out of the fans forum, some of what he said made sense, equally some was fanciful. But in general he wants us to do well, his methods aren't consistent or probably easy for the rest of his team to work with, but he's keeping us afloat, he provides some sort of stability and in his way, he's honest with fans about the challenges.
  13. Spat his dummy out, the most pathetic resignation letter ever - very befitting of the man.
  14. Michael Smith is an interesting one for me, 20 goals and but for injury would surely have beaten his haul for Rovrum the previous season. But he was never entirely convincing in our system. Will Moore keep him or try to move him on and get an upgrade from somewhere?
  15. Take it you couldn't avoid the TWW "motivational speech?" He does make it all about him.
