  1. That was definitely at play yesterday. You don't usually see it at Farsley though, mainly because the average crowd is 600-800. Scunny fans were definitely making the most of being a large following at a small club.
  2. Our lass was taken back by the 60+ bald fella in the bar doing a line off the back of his mobile without a care in the world. He was then one of the main protagonists in the bar fight I mentioned. Some folk never grow up, apparently.
  3. Five of us went to watch Farsley Celtic v Scunny yesterday and it was in fairness a very entertaining match. Farsley have a good set up, basic but decent enough. The club house have decent beers on tap at good prices & get through the queues at good speed. Even the club owner was pitching in & serving on the bar. Scunny brought about 1600-1700 which is a huge number for the National League North & the overall attendance was something like 2300 which is Farsleys biggest crowd for donkeys years. As for the game, as full time players, you could see Scunnys extra quality & fitness. They're top of the league for a reason but in the second half especially Farsley had good chances & deserved a goal. So 2-0 to Scunny & they march on but an entertaining game with 3 red cards, one of each side sent off for headbutting each other & Farsley captain sent off late on second yellow for what just seemed to be a tired players tackle. The thing I'll remember though is the "interesting" behaviour of the Scunny fans. Clearly their numbers meant they took over the ground, but the aggression of many of them, the number that had to be escorted out, the scuffles by the pitch, fighting in the bar where women were sat, their general conduct was pretty shitty, for non league definitely. Probably a huge factor in one of their coaches windows getting put in by one of Farsleys finest after the game. I had all on convincing Mrs Bradders afterwards that it's not always like this in non league footy. Anyway, Scunthorpe are on their way back & the decent fans I spoke to are happy with their lot & enjoying this season. It'll be interesting to see how they get on next season in the National League where they won't be the big boys.
  4. RIP Beastie and thanks for the memories. Condolences to your family xx
  5. Did you have a VPN on? Mine wasn't working until I put it on and switched to Cyprus, then it was fine, although there was a 95 minute nightmare on the screen.
  6. I dunno, JBO just isn't as funny in real life.
  7. Before there's a Geoff pile on, I've given him stick (and still do) on Twitter but just keep in mind the guy's had a tough time in the last couple of years & he does read this forum. Not aimed at you @tomcore, just in case it was going to get more personal.
  8. The 1867 Attention Seekers would definitely have welcomed him with open arms.
  9. The skill he's got, and it is a skill - is that of being able to use a lot of words to say absolutely fuck all.
  10. Given his bands total domination of the indie charts for the last 15 years then I can't think of anyone better qualified to offer strategic advice...
  11. Why would he want the hassle? He's on an easy gig at Talksport and listening to him, you get the distinct feeling that he dislikes much of the inner football goings on.
  12. I've been wondering whether or not to bite, but go on then, I will. Not going to ask if you've got the money or contacts, tbh it's none of my business but I'm curious. Assuming that you have got the will & means to pull this together at some point, the question is...why? Why would you ever want the aggravation, the schizophrenic fanbase hammering your every decision, the leaking of money to keep the vessel afloat with only the faintest chance of making the promised land, the push and pull of needing to increase revenue but the howls that come with every penny increase and the "twenty's plenty mantra". The press, the SAG, the forums, the players, the agents, just the sheer amount of grief and aggro at every turn. Why? What kind of sick masochist would willingly put themselves through that just for the thrill of seeing you money leak through your hands? I wouldn't, that's for sure. You look at the people who have bought us and who seemingly want(ed) to buy us and there's almost always something rabidly egotistical about them. Anyway, Good Luck 😂
  13. I see it going the other way, within 5 years they'll have total control of FIFA, UEFA and teams in the CL. They're well on the way.
  14. 1867 Teen Group" 1) Pweeeeeaaasee pwomiss us that warrever we do or say you won't tek our tickets offa us. 2) Pweeeeeeaaasseee say summat to mek peeple think we was not fibbing about you acting reyt bad, so you look really bad and everywon nos we was tellin the troof." DC "Fuck off you imbeciles" 1867 Teen Group "Yer see, he's reyt stuborn, time we all had a protest, lets tell that Twitter page war a bad man he is"
  15. Palmer did switch off, Johnson was a bit meek against their attacker too. But other than that, both were very good today.
  16. The period before they scored was strange, it looked like we were dead on our feet, but it was just mindset, because once they did score & a draw wasn't gonna be good enough, we still had the fitness and strength of mind to come back and win. Hopefully that win is the catalyst...if we are around 6-7 points off 4th bottom by 1st Jan then we can do this.
  17. Great defending from Palmer to delay their overload at the back post.
  18. Fletcher on the bench, no Gregory again. WTF does he see in him?
  19. No. Saudis make money every way possible. Expanding oil/gas sales to Africa while at same time pushing their green initiatives elsewhere being just one example.
  20. Nev, quick question. You've made bids for the club, shown proof of funds, demonstrated that you're real and mean business & the stubborn chairman knocks you back, doesn't provide any information and stops talking to you. Who do you take your grievances to? A) The local journos- who combined have got a big reach and can tell a story that's likely to get picked up by Sky etc B) The lads off X who couldn't arrange for some tennis balls to be lobbed on to the pitch. C) Nobody, because you're a professional & you know that's not likely to be the end & you can come back in when the Chairman is in a weaker position.
  21. The key word is "credible" & that means different things to different people. I'm not sure what DC's bar is, but Im sure it will be very much higher than 2 lads off X who thought it'd be great to start a protest account or those who egg them on.
  22. It's quite depressing to me how many people on X have just swallowed it without question. As has already been pointed it, it's such a bad piece of work, easily torn to pieces and clearly the group are nowt more than a mouthpiece. But still, plenty of folk believed it without question.
  23. He was angry with Monk when he left wasn't he? I remember the feeling was that he didn't develop in his last year, but I wonder how much of that might have been him realising that he was never going to get a game with us. Anyway, good to see him playing for his country.
