Yes. They are both authoritarian regimes. If a small number of powerful people come to the conclusion that sports washing is a waste of time, and/or start to disapprove of the crazy money being paid to a handful of superstar imports…then yes. Could happen.

Well that was a pleasant surprise. Was thinking that the positives were that we didn’t fold, and we kept plugging away. It’s clear that the players believe in Röhl. We just need more reasons to believe in some of them. That was a start. Hopefully Hendrick’s anaemic displays after he first came here were down to lack of match fitness, and the goal is a sign of better to come. A point against the best team in the division is something to hang our hats on, a reason to believe for a little while longer.

We seemed very out of shape at the back there, considering it wasn’t really a fast counter attack. We’ve got nobody organising the defence and nobody who can put the ball in the net. Not the best combination.

People being convicted of public order offences for things that are merely insensitive and in very poor taste, is a dubious, and possibly dangerous precedent. Basically we live in a country with millions of silly knobheads who completely overreact to these kinds of incidents, and need to fucking grow up. However offensive those two idiots actions were, it was clearly not a public order offence. -

That front three today, bloody hell. Bursts of pace and a few tricks, but absolutely nothing else. Not clinical in front of goal. Wank decision making. Was it actually a miss? Not seen it on telly but from the West end of the North Stand it looked like a clearance off the line…at the wrong end…would have gone in if he’d done nothing.

I said on another thread that I wouldn’t be worried if we had an extra five points. We need mid table form for the rest of the season to stay up. At the moment we’re producing lower mid table performances. We’re definitely improving but we do need some wins fairly quickly. What could change the equation is other club’s finances. With QPR and Toytown both looking fairly awful, if one other team were to get a points deduction then low forties might just be enough.

Decent attacking threat down the flanks with Marv and Valentin in wing back positions. If we had five points more I wouldn’t be too worried.

There’s no doubt that there’s been an improvement under Röhl. It just looks like there’s more of a plan and more collective belief. What the coaching staff can’t control is stupid fucking decisions at key points in games.

It will be interesting to see what impact Electric Vehicle tech has on that part of the world. If the oil price plummets in five years or so, Saudi may not be a model of political stability by 2034. Of course money grabbing whores like FIFA tend not to think that far ahead.

Yep. That fight, right there, is why a cruiserweight holds three of the heavyweight title belts. Fury is the best of the really big guys, and he comes and goes in terms of dedication and focus.
