Load of bollocks from the FA and probably could be challenged legally. What do they expect clubs to do, conduct vetting and background checks on 25000 people? It’s a sports team not MI fucking 5. Ban idiots for this kind of stuff and move on, without the bran dead virtue signaling.

Isn't Connecticut a state, not a town / city?
Not that he's from that, either. 😉
Yes Bridgeport with about 150k population is the biggest town. 🤣

The news on QPR and potential points deduction could be a curveball
There’s still enough winnable games left to pick up enough points to put survival beyond doubt, whatever happens to everyone else.

Any idea what object struck Vaulks while he was in the (very slow) process of taking a throw?
It's around the 2-minute mark of the highlights. At 2:20-ish, something white hits him around the elbow.
Plastic water bottle, one of the third of a litre ones.

We’ve played them at home in a Friday since then haven’t we…
Reach thunderbastard…
Yeah the 1-1 where Reach and Klich swapped worldies. Leeds fans smashed up a tram before the game so all trans stopped running and everyone had to walk into town. Was interesting having a pint in The Ship while the Main Leeds escort came past.

Hudders leading at Southampton. Sacking Darren clearly working out for them.

The first half was poor, despite going in 1-0 up. We just couldn’t keep the ball and gain any control in midfield, and we looked nervous at the back, though still a threat in good moments. Second half was a bit more solid, but still with good moments. Overall fuck it, we just needed the three points. Beadle never put a foot wrong. Poveda looks a player. Bernard easily the most consistently impressive of the Summer signings.

I was at that one. Always quite liked White Hart Lane as an away game, proper football ground.

Just renewed mine, but fuck me it was a lot of effort. Haven’t used my PayPal account for a few years and had an old, deactivated phone number stored against it. Ended up having to phone their customer services as they kept sending 2fa verification codes to the old number. Reminded me why I hate PayPal. 🙄

Fucking poor execution in the final third could cost us. Good start but we need all three points today.

We could have had a worse deadline day. Both look like reasonable signings for a relegation scrap.

Or just posting a load of bollocks on social media because he’s got nothing to do and he’s bored?

Not a big deal but good on him. Yeah he clearly cares about his hometown club. And less controversially than Paulo Di Canio 🤨

Robins has called Wednesday fans who booed Palmer last night “idiots” and “absolute clowns”. Look, there are plenty of perfectly serviceable insults in the English language that don’t refer to ethnicity, and I have no problem whichever cretin made those gestures last week getting banned. But I have never agreed with entire teams taking the knee. This is a good example of why. It can further provoke and inflame situations. Black player acts like a snidely twat and winds fans up. They give him stick. One or two make it racial. So now we can’t even boo him if he does anything annoying or the same thing gets brought up. Just ban people for racism and move on.

Bierith was recalled by Arsenal from his Motherwell loan…but he’s gone to Sturm Graz for the rest of the season. 🤷

Oh fuck off. Coventry for the 3rd time in a month. Maybe if we sign Coventry we’ll give him a debut against Coventry.

Really hope this isn’t true. The guy just oozes class. We should hold out for a decent transfer fee.😉

Watford, who we are due to play on 27th Jan are at home to Conference leading Chesterfield in the third round. So barring a fairly big upset, even if we lose again to Cardiff, who were fairly shit, we probably won’t have a league game that weekend.

I think DR, along with input from his backroom staff, has already targeted and sounded out the players he wants in January - and I think they will be players none of us will have an inkling about until they are brought in. I can see the majority of them coming in from abroad, who DR has either worked with or who have been on his radar for a while.
I don’t really see any of these players we’ve been linked with to date adding much to what we already have, and for the quality we require we will need to spend big as they will need to be proven at this level (or above), plus it’s likely we would face competition from other clubs with healthier budgets than ours, if said players do become available.
Going to be an interesting and probably season defining 4-5 weeks ahead of us.
I really hope this interpretation is correct. In fact, you can probably say that we only have any hope of staying up this season, if this is correct.

It’s not been a great year for British Sport in terms of winning things. I’d have voted for Alfie Hewett or Johnson-Thompson because they’ve had dominant years in their respective disciplines.
if people are against Mary Earps winning it for not winning the World Cup, it immediately rules out Stuart Broad for those very same reasons in that he didn’t regain the ashes. McIllroy has had a decent year and was brilliant in the Ryder Cup.
I agree on Dettori, he’s Italian.
Beyond that, I can’t think of any other sports where people have achieved a lot. Maybe Leon Edward’s in UFC? It’s not been a great year in British Boxing. City did the treble but the star of the show was not English. It’s been a bad year for English cricket, English rugby probably overachieved a bit. Even sports like Cycling are on the slide a bit.
Agreed. SPOTY has never been a truly objective measure of sporting achievement. Even if it was, nothing really stands out from 2023, other than maybe a golfer for absolutely pulverising the Yanks in the Ryder Cup, but it’s a team event and we play as Europe. You can make a case for Broad for his career as a whole, and he did bow out in a brilliantly theatrical manner. But unless you really like cricket, it’s a bit so what, England did not regain the Ashes and had a terrible World Cup. Leon Edward’s should have at least been on the shortlist, but MMA doesn’t have that big a profile in Britain.
Let's hope it doesn't go tits up
