  1. They definitely didn’t get “battered”.  They had opportunities in all of the games they lost.  This series does show the limitations of the Bazball approach though.  Taking the pressure off people and creating a no fear environment where you can try things and be proactive works up to a point.  If your goal is to turn around a team that are generally losing to one that are generally winning.  However generally winning is not the same thing as being the best in the World.  When you’re trying to beat one of the two best sides around on their own turf the risk v reward calculations need to get a lot smarter.  Relentless positivity and always “going for it” ain’t gonna do the job.

  2. He’s ready for a world title shot.  That was a guy it took Regis Prograis 11 rounds to get rid of.  It wasn’t even a particularly risky shot that put the guy away.  Interesting that Eddie Hearn didn’t seem particularly happy about Dalton calling out Azim.  He’s probably right.  It would be nice for him to pick up a European title, but at this stage of his career he needs to aim higher.  Azim is not ranked in the top 15 by any world title body, he’s less of a name than Zepeda on the other side of the pond.

  3. We don’t draw many with Röhl.  He picks and sets up his sides to get at the opposition’s weaknesses.  Yep, when the wheels come off they really do come off.  With a more cautious approach we’d basically already be down, but yes we may have avoided any single game as embarrassing as today.  I don’t want to get relegated while avoiding any really humiliating results.

  4. I fancy us to get something from this one.  With Poveda and Ugbo we are way more incisive and clinical on the counter than we were a couple of months ago.  There will be a lot of expectation from the home crowd, probably this will be a game they expect to win easily.  And I don’t think Ipswich have quite the same quality as some of the other teams near the top.  Clearly they are a tidy side and well coached, but we are evolving into exactly that, and they’re not Leeds or Southampton.

Chansiri did get the blame for this on a certain other forum for not investing enough money in the stewarding

My eyes have stopped bleeding now after reading it 😡😡😡

Bloody hell, I wonder what percentage of regular Stalk posters have registered carers.  🙄

  6. Stood next to me at the bar in The Globe before the play off final last May, and bought a pint of Amstel with a soaking wet fiver and lots of shrapnel, while every other fucker was doing contactless.  Bar staff not impressed.  Definitely a character.  Belatedly RIP.

  7. Utter bollocks.  A few coked up retards on an away day bender managed to block a gangway and the stewards didn’t give a shit, probably because most of them are foreign students who only took that job to help pay their tuition fees.  Happens at away games with a lot of away supports, including ours.  But it’s Hillsborough so we all know the rest.

  8. Playing well and comfortably the better side.  Disallowed goal was a lovely move.

We could do with all three here, but thinking ahead I don’t see it as a given that we get sod all from Leeds and Ipswich.  We are a dangerous side on the counter now and I can see us winning one of those two.

So basically mid 60s points over the course of a full season. 1.33 points per game.

Need to at least match, indeed way it's going over achieve that in the last quarter of the season

Since the November international break, which was Röhl’s first real chance to work with the players without immediate results pressure, it’s been 29 points from 19.  That would be 70 points if replicated across a whole season.

Maybe so in general terms but there's loads of ordinary fans saying we shouldn't touch this bloke with a bargepole 'cos it would be an own goal. We've got enough shit going on around the club - mainly jumped up fans 'group' followed by morons attacking sometimes difficult owner but also problems with specific fans behaviour currently / recently attracting charges / bad publicity - to not be asking for more of it when we don't need to.

Yeah fair point.  Another way to look at it is, let’s face it we’re not anybody’s second favourite team this season, so what’s a little bit more bad publicity if the fella helps us stay up.

I'm not bothered about Leeds going up or not.

Most Sheffield lads aren't (there's only one derby/hatred for us) generally  it's only the Donny, Barnsley  and Wakey lot  that care about Leeds.

So they’re the ones that sing “we all hate Leeds scum” at every single match then.  🙄. Thanks for clarifying.
