Awful news. Met Steve a couple of times. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I found him ok and 110% blue and white. Thoughts with him and his family.

Powell seems another solid appointment if it comes off. If Chansiri has made this decision and he sits back from the footballing outbursts and concentrates on running the business side of things then he may just turn things around. I just hope this doesn’t turn out to be a stepping stone for DR and he sees us as a long term project and gets it right. But if he is a great success and bigger clubs come in for him then at least we will have turned a corner hopefully by then.

We should come together now Chairman and fans and be grateful that DR has put his faith in his career to plunge himself into management with us. His pedigree as a coach is very high and he speaks very well. I am not a fan of the Chairman’s public speaking or certain other things but I am willing to say good appointment Mr Chairman and no more negative comments from me. I’m 100% behind this appointment and I hope the players are buzzing too and willing to give their all to keep the club up this season.

Well if Rohl fancies it then good on him cos it certainly isn’t an easy task to take at any time let alone his first job so it shows he’s got bottle. It could turn out to be a very exciting appointment and I really hope it catches the imagination of our fans and they have patience with him to put his own stamp on a squad that must be pretty low on confidence.
