NON Wednesday transfer thread 23/24
Bellsview replied to Tylluan's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
Fábio Carvalho to Dull on loan from Victimpool. Surprised me has that one. -
I wouldn’t mind Wrexham at home. They would bring loads and the novelty factor regarding their owners might see the game chosen for live tv. Plus, more importantly, we should beat them comfortably and get through to the next round and another payday. Other option is Spurs away to get in the new ground and a decent payday. In all likelihood we’d lose, but it would allow us to then focus on the league and staying up, which is far more important than a cup run.

Is it me or have Newcastle got the home end?

That’s a shite appointment. I’ll be amazed if he lasts the rest of the season. -

Would prefer them to get Heckingbottom as I think Mowbray would do enough to get them back on track again. -
The last Thursday of every month I do a quiz at my local. Tonight my wife came along to accompany me for the first time ever and we had a great night - locals said it was the best quiz I’ve ever delivered. We’ve not long been dropped off at home and as we entered the house my daughter told us of Beastie’s passing. She was mortified to have to tell us. I cried as though a family member had passed and I’m absolutely devastated at the news - I still feel numb and can’t quite believe it. So many happy memories, so many good times. A bloke who gave me chances on Owlsalive when everyone else wanted me banned. A bloke who never turned his back on me when so many did. There will never be another Steve Morris. He epitomised everything good about Wednesday. He had such a positive outlook on life and embraced everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression on them. If you met Beastie you never forgot it, or him. Ironic that I delivered a quiz tonight, given that he was the master of them. Maybe he was there with me, making sure I did a good job. I take comfort from even thinking that he might have been. During lockdown, when he put on his online quizzes me, my wife, my daughter and her boyfriend couldn’t wait for them. We looked forward to them, couldn’t wait for them and laughed all the way through them. They made lockdown more bearable and we lived for those quizzes and the opportunity to interact and laugh alongside other likeminded people. And my god did him and his wife and soul mate Janice entertain us. I can’t think of anyone less deserving of something like this happening to them as Beastie, or his amazing, wonderful and loving family. Why is it that so many honest, decent and loved people get taken so early? Why is life so cruel? I feel honoured and privileged to have known you Beastie and life, along with the world, will not be as bright without you - but I am thankful that at least I got to know you and spend some quality time with you. You touched my life and I am all the better for that. Rest in peace my friend - we’ll always be forever Wednesday, no matter where we watch them from, won’t we! 😢💙🦉🤍

2023/24 Wednesday transfer thread...
Bellsview replied to Southy_SWFC's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
I think DR, along with input from his backroom staff, has already targeted and sounded out the players he wants in January - and I think they will be players none of us will have an inkling about until they are brought in. I can see the majority of them coming in from abroad, who DR has either worked with or who have been on his radar for a while. I don’t really see any of these players we’ve been linked with to date adding much to what we already have, and for the quality we require we will need to spend big as they will need to be proven at this level (or above), plus it’s likely we would face competition from other clubs with healthier budgets than ours, if said players do become available. Going to be an interesting and probably season defining 4-5 weeks ahead of us. -

He’s doing an amazing job and I still can’t believe he’s just 34 years old, as he has a calmness, philosophy, professionalism and maturity that belies his young age. For me I think I’ve already seen enough to say he’s the best managerial appointment we’ve made since Big Ron. If DC backs him and DR is content to stay at SWFC, we will go places under this fella. Just listen to what the players say and think of him. He’s the managerial equivalent of Roland Nilsson for me, as there’s just something about him that makes him special and places him above the norm. An absolute class act. -
Q...P...Are we going to get back to winning ways?
Bellsview replied to Otto_Man's topic in The Haigh and Wright Suite
Left the house and we were losing 1-0. Just checked into my hotel, put the scores on and see we’ve won 2-1. 😀 Get in there, can’t believe it - and now only 6 points off 4th bottom. Needless to say I shall be celebrating big time tonight! 🍺🍺🍺 -
Can we make the Canaries sing to our tune

Abysmal defending!
