  1. If Red Bull come in and move stadium, change the name, kit, badge, then what is left of the club we support?

It’s MK Dons with better PR. Of course their hope is it would be more successful on the pitch than MK Dons, but if it’s a team that wins trophies wearing a different kit and badge with a different name in a different stadium that you want to watch then why not just go and watch Man City.

It's a dichotomy. However much I consider Chansiri's running of the Club is shite, I find these groups circling around just as piss poor

The 1867 Group statement was shockingly bad

I find it ironic that one of the accusations chucked at Chansiri is he frequently posts long rambling statements, bringing up issues of the past that should be left alone…

  3. My first thought on the fitness issue is always that the players are professionals and as such are responsible for maintaining their level of fitness, regardless of what training is being provided by the club.

But is that actually fair? Or is it likely that club micromanage their fitness/running/gym work etc so they can’t just go off and do what they want away from the club?

  4. Of course we would, I just don’t see it as very likely that he has such a huge change of heart/approach without some influence from elsewhere.

It doesn’t even seem like he’s just climbed down a little bit and got Röhl, he’s gone all in with the staff too. Going to be interesting to watch it all unfold.

Or he reacted initially like we all could do by snapping and taking our ball home but realised about 20 minutes after getting in the house he would be left with a mitre delta multiplex but no-one to play with it if he carried on down that path

Trouble is with that you look a bit of a **** when you turn up back at the park asking if anyone wants to play

  6. The last week or so suggests a complete change of approach.

What I don’t understand is how that’s come about so soon after DC’s last statement.

Statements like that aren’t, or shouldn’t be, made lightly. If he’s so willing to make a statement like that then he must have been committed to it. Which leads me to think that whatever has changed is from outside the club. Either new “advisors” or it’s a precursor to a change of ownership.

  7. “Wednesday are now looking to become the second Championship side in seven seasons, after Bolton in 2017-18, to avoid relegation having won three points or fewer in their opening 11 games.”

How many times in the last seven seasons have a team had 3 points or fewer? Can’t have happened that many times. The way they’ve written makes it sound like there’s loads and only Bolton have managed to stay up.

Hoping all non football admin will be sorted this am so they can announce.

There was plenty xisco did wrong and I think that’s been discussed to death but he was also in that unfortunate spot of being the man right after the Moore shock and expectations were different ie if you get rid of steady Eddy Moore you’re needing to justify that with something better and more exciting which didn’t happen. There was no talk of needing to accept relegation then.

With Rohl, whilst it’s early I think he’s in a similar position to Moore when he came in where the issues were not seen as his fault and was the “builder” so I think fans at least will give him the benefit of the doubt as long as the players are putting a shift in and he manages the media.

So Xisco was brought in as the “but he’s not Darren Moore” buffer, if it works great, it probably won’t so we’ll give him a short term contract let him take the flak then replace him with our real long term first choice in October who will be seen as a saviour compared to the last bloke who was in.

Expert PR from Chansiri has to be said.

  9. Almost embarrassing for them to come to a side with form like ours and spend the second half time wasting.

Speaking of embarrassing, James really showed how ridiculous Xisco had been in having him nowhere near the side. A really good performance from him, Vaulks and Bernard. Well, “really good” in the context of our season anyway.

A platform to build on, but we were crying out for some pace in to the second half. Thought Wilks might provide it but he was pretty ineffective when he came on. Although he was hard to done to when he had beaten their man down the left but harshly given a foul.

  10. I get the argument that “skills” wise he may be exactly what we need.

But we’re not talking about just taking on any old ex-United manager. This bloke has sneered and jibed at Wednesday throughout his whole career. It’s not Adkins or Jokanovic we’re on about here, it’s the very embodiment of that club. How many times have you heard him tell that story about being last off the bus at Hillsborough to wind folk up, telling David Wagner in his press conference he’ll give him to tips to beat us in the playoff semi, he’s spent his whole career hating us and making no secret about it.

It’s a principle thing for me, and he - along with the likes of Billy Sharp, Chris Morgan, Michael Brown etc are the line you don’t cross. I’d sooner go down with Xisco than stay up with Warnock.

  11. But is Chansiri going to receive that message?

He only thinks in the extreme short term and he only thinks about money. His ticket pricing policy shows this. He’s not bothered about how his policy today affects attendances in 5/10 years time.

Given that there’s going to be hardly any home tickets sold due to cost/performance, he’s already got his money this year whether 20,000 turn up or 2 - so a boycott will barely even register with him.

The worry now is that his expected price rise in January, continued shit performances and threatening of fans puts season ticket holders off, and they find something better to do on a Saturday afternoon and never return.

Would Chansiri really put r instead of are (4 times) judt, instead of just. Call Darren Moore just darren with a lower case d?

That official statement has got a legal presence all over it before it was released so do you think he's going to answer anyone personally in that way?

And if he wrote this morning's statement himself then his English is a damn sight better in that than in that so called reply

Excellent points by EBRA and Chelts there

I am critical of Chansiri's reign, but its hopefully about his decision making processes and the lack of planning. Never about his culture or nationality.

I am intrigued by his character, his personality, his background and how that impacts on said decision making, what he says in public, how he perceives the fan base.

The protestor groups are just a bit lacking in know how

I think that’s a fair post MK. Although they’re looking at things about his culture, I think it’s more about trying to get an understanding of what makes him tick, how and why he makes decisions, and on that basis what action will have the biggest impact.
