  1. Not disagreeing with that. Tbh in my modest life I wouldn't stay quiet either if that was the perception of others. It's strange, people want to know, want transparency then when they get it they then say why was it uttered.
  2. I mean you are damned if you do (reply) because you are continuing the argument Damned if you don't because a good chunk of the fan base consider Saint Darren was the "truthsayer" My experience tends to find the actual truth sits merrily toward the middle most occasions. So DC can;t win and there is certainly merit in saying nowt, but I don't think his character allows him to do that.
  3. I never trust anyone that has religious faith
  4. that one is a nice private house builder, got some new ones on the market at £995k if you are interested
  5. Tbf I don't think there is deliberate malice in anything Moore has done or said with the intention of fuelling the fans against DC Certainly the media, national and local are on "his" side and that creates an anti DC stance. But for DC this is like arguing with the Mrs, you will never win
  6. I have a client uncomfortably close to that ground, thankfully they are this side but I have gone past a few times and its a very depressing memory. Not helped that stevenage is a right shithole anyway
  7. Good to see I was already getting value out my Sky TV subscription. It was still fairly novel to see us on TV that era, if less seeing us snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory.
  8. The daft thing is I don't believe DC is looking for an out route But then sets up a scenario where the vitriol from the fan base would justify him taking that action But then that is what they want so why would you give them that win Again you could just say fuck this, I am pulling the funding but whilst the fans would have to endure relegation, the value of what you own plummets again You could sell the Club and still have control of the stadium, but the Club could play temporarily elsewhere. My overriding question is what is DC getting out of this. It seems a poisoned chalice, I can't see it gaining him status in Thailand currently, it is costing you an 8 figure sum per year, are you ever going to recover these losses. If you are fronting this then your silent investors are hardly going to be thrilled with how it's going. Is it simply he enjoys it
  9. It's almost like he is throwing the gauntlet down to the critical elements of the fan base to put up or shut up at Saturdays game.
  10. I was going to suggest I had questions over the legitimacy of the MOT. And apparently in 5 years it had only done 7500 miles
  11. It was 100% legit obviously, I took advice from Capt Tom's daughter
  12. I deal with a few former CEOs as clients. There is something character wise that is different, I guess that what drove them to the top in the first place Even after retirement and in a couple of cases now, serious health issues that fire never leaves them. One recently sacked his health insurance provider, the net result he had to fork out 180k in medical fees. He can afford it but for him the principles involved was paramount. Another chap, a very good friend of the above, with early stage dementia is totally digging his heels on an investment matter. He cannot accept his skills are diminished and why the hell should he be forced to hand over the control of funds to "a wet behind the ears 23 year old Oxbridge graduate". You have to understand and work with their personal traits I am not saying DC is right here, but trying to explain where he could be coming from personality wise
  13. I do find him fascinating. Over the years in my work I have happened upon some strong characters to say the least in the owner managed business sector. With some one day you think here comes a bollocking, but nice as pie. Then other times you think all is well and you end having the phone 10 foot away and your ears still bleed. Wouldn't be dull working for him that's for sure
  14. DC is very much a person who does not like untruths spoken. Whether he should have done it, very much open to your own view, but I can see why he has. Some might suggest it's a cultural honour type thing, actually and something I would be with him on is if your honesty or integrity is questioned. A minor occurrence, but once on Stalk a poster basically insinuated that funds collected for WTID had vanished. I actually threatened to sue that site if that was not rescinded. My point being sometimes you will not let things lie - to paraphrase Vic and Bob - and perhaps not the forums but perhaps an eye to the local journalists taking the Moore story as gospel
  15. Some of it is fascinating - lets put in the caveat as per DC's statement That he wanted £1.2m a season and be paid more than any player If we brought in a player on more then he would get an increase A guaranteed 10% increase each season A guaranteed 100% increase if we got promotion For someone he pondered sacking 3 times last season
  16. The Spanish guy Piers Morgan Or both and Sean Bean
  17. A sad indictment of international football, but i had no more than a passing check of the scores, including the England game over the weekend. About as much interest as I had in the rugby World Cup
  18. Still trying to work out why Piers Morgan, that well known Spanish journalist got the exclusive
  19. Innit shit with these international weekends Thanks to Sky its only these odd weekends its like being back in the 70s and 80s when Sundays were a bit crap
  20. Anyway it could be worse, if anyone on here follows Lost Football Terraces on Facebook (pretty good group, almost up there with the Dull Mens Club) and a Cambridge fan called Paul Dellor posts up results from days in history. Well 23 years ago today we endured a 5 - 0 home defeat to Wimbledon. #Enoughisenoughwhoeverwastheownerbackthenasicantremember
  21. Thank fuck these international breaks really helped the England team over that 30 years
  22. That is out of order. They should write articles in an impartial manner, certainly not skew opinions. I mean I recall a comment on here. I am sort of trusted to speak a degree of sense on the finances. So forgot who it was, but they rightly suggested I should be extra diligent what I say and how I say it on that topic. And local journalists should follow the same principles in my view.
  23. It's Spain the fuckers be all still on holiday
