  3. I think it's getting harder to do this these days. For example, I believe two of our most promising young players (Yogane (sp?) and Holland) have turned down scholarships with us and signed for Brentford. We don't seem to be providing a clear path through to the first team for our development players, which would be more likely to keep them here. Cadamarteri is the next big hope though and thankfully he's signed professional terms. Get it right with him and it might set a good example for others to follow.
  4. I've spent far too long thinking about this. Defence: Bolton - 8 Smith - SWFC - 2.5 Jephcott - Ply - 2.5 Vokes - Wyc - 2.25 Eisa - MKD - 2 Jay - Exe - 1.25 Collins - B Rov - 1.25
  5. This sort of deal is what concerns me about Wednesday ever getting back into the top flight. I just can't identify with average (any) players earning so much and suspect I might lose that 'connection' I've had with the club for over 50 years. At my age, I could well be dead before it happens of course, so I'm not too worried. đŸ˜‰
  6. I think the scorer might be Jayden Brown, running up from LB.
  7. This is bloody impressive from England, 6-0 before half-time against the side ranked 8th in the world.
  8. Wimbledon Stoke Fulham Burnley Brighton Millwall Coventry Airdrie? Falkirk Dunfermline?
  9. I wonder if they'll be interested in buying/re-loaning Alex Hunt now they're back in the league. He's not likely to get much of an opportunity in our midfield unless we get a run of injuries, which includes Bannan.

  11. Well that was far to close for comfort, but ultimately what a great, painful way for them to lose again! đŸ˜‚
  12. I was just a young teenager (13) at that Man U game in 74. Stood on the kop pretty much shitting myself for much of it, but knew the older Owls would hold em back. I was one of those on the edge of the pitch (5 mins in on the clip above) basically trying to keep out of the fighting going on all around me. Great game and great memories though. Set me up for a rough ride of following the Owls through some crap years of football on and off the pitch.
  13. So frustrating and so typical of this season that we lost the first leg due to a stupid mistake. Hutch cocked up, plain and simple, but he also saved what looked a certain goal with his block on Roberts' shot. Overall, I had Hutch as one of our best performers (cock-up aside) If that was typical of our season, we can hope for a typical home result on Monday too, which should mean a victory. I hope it's by more than one goal though, I couldn't cope with extra time and pos. penalties đŸ˜® 1-0 was a vast improvement on the 5-0 earlier in the season too.
  14. Good to see Bannan back on the pitch after the game there. hopefully it was just a bit of cramp.
  15. We could've been winning by more if not for Bazunu in their goal. I wonder if Man City would loan him to us next season?
  16. If Toytown lose today, we could well be looking at a Wembley victory over them to look forward to!
