  1. I think the standard of journalism generally is poor these days. This one from a Portsmouth 'journalist' is littered with grammatical errors. It makes it even more of a chore to read the crap they produce.
  2. OUT: Scarlett - Pmp - £2m Stockley - Cha/Fle - £2.75m IN: McGoldrick - Der - £2.5m Broadhead - Ips - £2.5m Current team: Defence: Bolton - £8m --------- Windass - SWFC - £2.25m McGoldrick - Der - £2.5m Broadhead - Ips - £2.5m Smith - SWFC - £2.5 Collins - B Rov - £1.25 Leigh - Acc - 1.0 £20m
  3. I'll transfer Jay (Exe - £1.25m) for Leigh (Acc - £1.0m) I'm assuming that means I still have 2 transfers when the window opens.
  4. I've only just calmed down after yesterday's thriller at Hillsborough, then that cup final happens! Had a tenner on Mbappe for the Golden Boot and resisted the temptation to cashout on numerous occasions at around £45/£50. Thought I'd blown it when Messi got his 2nd, then Mbappe got the 2nd penalty... £90 to me!
  5. Michael Smith got his wish then. Newcastle at home
  6. I'm watching the draw on BBC and I seem to have a filter on my sound that makes everyone sound Scouse.
  7. Liverpool at Hillsborough. It's about time 'the disaster' was brought back into the spotlight 🤔
  8. I'm not afraid to admit that genuinely brought tears to my eyes. Well done Jack Grealish, top man. I wouldn't be surprised to see Finley and his family flown out to see a game at some point in this tournament (he did seem hint at it by telling him he hates the UK weather and would love to be in Quatar)
  9. Let's hope they play like that against us.
  10. As always, I can see us getting all 12, but would think 7-8 would be acceptable. I think we'll win today then beat Derby, but Exeter is the one I'm most doubtful of for some reason. No doubts about us beating Oxford. 4 points would be very disappointing, but nothing we couldn't bounce back from.
  11. His mate, Jose will have a word and convince him to buy SWFC. He'll be the first player-chairman I've ever heard of. Can you imagine the publicity we'd get?
  12. I've just about done enough recently to scrape a few results together based on a sound defence. Hopefully a cup run will be just what's needed to get my strikers scoring again.
  13. This competition has been a great addition to the site IMO and I think it would be worth paying a small fee (£5?) to join in next season to raise funds to help keep the site going.
  14. Not much consolation, but I think I lost 3-1, not 3-0 (Smith goal)
  15. I like the idea, it adds an extra dimension to the main competition.
  16. We could see Agbontahoma on the Bench if Henneghan's injury keeps him out and Ihiekwe picks up another booking.
  17. Living in today's world, the thought of being dead soon seems to have it's benefits at times. 😑
  18. Apparently he's trained recently and they're going to assess him in the morning. I expect him to play.
  19. Can't help thinking that if he said his ambition was to play for Wednesday and had it written into his contract that, when this one ends, he gets a free transfer to us for 2 years, he'd be injured in the first 2 weeks and spend a good 18 months plus on the sidelines.
  20. That is a really well constructed and interesting look at the season so far. I can see where you're coming from, but I suspect it's too early in the season to be extrapolating results, as you've already alluded to. I understand (waiting to be proved wrong now) that no-one has failed to achieve automatic promotion from L1 with a points total of 92 before, so I would suggest it's unlikely to happen this season too. My thoughts are that teams such as Bolton, Pompey, Derby and Plymouth don't have the quality in depth that the likes of us and Ipswich have and will drop unexpected points as a result of injury and fatigue over the course of the season. It'll be interesting to watch though.
  21. I went Bannan for his consistently high standards, but great to have so many contenders.
  22. Two of those bottom nine are Wycombe and MKD, who most would've anticipated being in or around top six when the fixtures came out, so we entered the season thinking we had a tough(ish) start.
  23. Oh aye, overall leader right now, it's like winning the Papa John's Trophy.
