While I know what he's trying to say, and is only joking, I find it a tad silly to publicly announce he would fake a broken leg in order to win a football match.

If I'm a referee reading that I'm waving play on the next time he's on the receiving end of a knee-high challenge, cos my first thought is, "oh, there he goes, faking injury. Tit."
