How does Glastonbury work?

Is there a vip section at the front?

do you and your mates need to get to the pyramid stage at 4am to be at the front and stay there all day taking it in turns to get drinks and food and visit the loo?

is it just as good sat at home and get someone to stand in front of you waving a giant flag or getting his bird to sit on his shoulders obscuring your view?

I think its more from a crowd safety aspect at Glastonbury that there are separate sections, but clearly at other gigs it is about money making. A mate of mine had the dubious pleasure of taking his daughter to see Harry Styles at Old Trafford, he was up in the seats and from the video you could see the reason.

The scale of the Glastonbury site intrigues me, that even without crowds its apparently a 2 hour walk across it.

There is a part of me that would like to go to experience the full festival, but equally sat and watching it on my sofa as an appeal. Great end if anyone watched the Bicep 💪set

Try this to work out the size.  Quite interesting, well if you are sad like me.

My sister-in-law and her family are from the Pilton area and get comp tickets, plus they get into Babbington House for the after parties.

Never bothered with it myself, but they say its weird at Babbington House being stood at the bar and having really famous people in queue with you  - Beckham, Kate Moss etc

I went twice in the mid 90s but it was getting commercialised even back then and the thieving that was going off was unreal. Don't know if security has been tightened in recent years though.

1995 was my first time and Pulp replaced Stone Roses at the last minute. Absolutely cracking set but outdone by Portishead who were unreal. It was also the first time they had a dance tent and I remember seeing Carl Cox, Massive Attack, and I think Fluke was doing a set as well.

Was persuaded to go back in 97 but it was a literally a shit fest. It rained so hard that the portaloos kept falling over and spilling shit into the mud. The other stage actually started sinking around 10pm on Friday night. When we got back to the tent we found it 10 yards further down the hill than where we'd pitched it. Pursuaded security to let us go back to the car to sleep. Next morning found the tent had been nicked and we had no spare dry clothes so stayed until mid afternoon and when it started raining again we fucked off back home. Half the acts pulled out last minute and wasn't bothered by Radiohead anyway.
