An SD is closer to a DoF so suggests a more overarching role. Dowling's last job at West Brom was eventful. He fell out with Billic, fell out with Big Sam, fell out with the academy director who went to Villa and still slated him a year later, on Twitter, when Dowling had left the Hawthorns. Last straw was falling out with the owner after being told he couldn't bring Wilder in as manager. Baggies fans blame him for a lot of what was going wrong at the time he was at West Brom Could be an interesting ride if he joins.
