Yorkshire win!

Yorkshire win by 8 wickets, Lyth finished unbeaten on 90no & hit a lovely 4 to finish the game.

A resounding victory for Yorkshire who march on and have now won 6 matches in the Vitality Blast on the trot.

Tonight's victory sees Yorkshire ip into 2nd on 12 points.

Tonight's game saw Northamptonshire visit Headingley in the Vitalty Blast.

Northamptonshire won the toss & elected to bat.

In their 20 overs they made 180/6

Yorkshire required 181 runs to win & get back on track.

Sadly the batting was massively lacking again as they were skittled out for a lowly 102 - Malan the highest scorer with 34.

Northamptonshire won by 78 runs.

After 2 successive defeats, Yorkshire drop from 2nd to 5th.

Hopefully they can dust themselves down & put in a better performance on Thursday for the visit of Warwickshire who are currently top of the table.

Today Yorkshire make a short trip to Chesterfield to play Derbyshire.

This morning Yorkshire won the toss & opted to bowl - which has proven to be a fantastic decision.

Derbyshire 1st innings

109/9

3 bowlers all chipping in with decent figures so far

Coad : 3/27 (9 overs)

Fisher : 4/29 (10 overs)

Thompson 2/33 (6 overs)

Not that short a trip if you're in Ripon or Middlesborough...:classic_biggrin:

Yorkshire 176/4

Lose by 4 runs, awful umpiring which saw a blatant wide not given when Yorkshire needed 11 from 2 balls, Weise then hits the last ball for 6 resulting in losing by just 4 runs.

20 runs came off the last over as Yorkshire come up just short.

That's now 3 losses on the bounce.

Tonight's game at Durham has been cancelled due to rain.

Yorkshire were 49/1 after 8.1 overs before the heavens opened.

1 point each, still all to play for when Yorkshire visit Lancashire next Friday for a place in the Semi-Finals.

Back to County Championship action today as Yorkshire welcome bottom of the table Gloucestershire to Headingley.

A must win game for me, we are currently 50 points behind top of the table Durham.

If we can not only get the win but maximum bowling & batting points, that would help bridge the gap on the teams above us.

Match delayed due to rain but play due to resume at 18:20pm

Tattersall out for 79

Revis 23* & Fisher 6* at the crease.

Yorkshire 388/6 (88.4 overs)

Yorkshire require 12 more runs for 4 batting bonus points.
