HoylandOwl Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 That's what Liam Palmer has become..... https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesdays-mr-reliable-talks-captains-honour-position-changes-and-hoping-for-barry-bannans-return-3996599 He's had his detractors over the years, some more vociferous than others, but I don't think many can really have a pop at him this season. As the article mentions, he's changed positions, took on the role of captain in the absence of Bannan. IMO he has become a consistent performer. While some may argue 'he's found his level' or whatever, for me, he's like a modern version of Lewis Buxton was. He's a 7/10 or better just about every game, not letting anyone down and a player that all the rest of the team certainly appreciate and respect. Fair play Liam. 2 Quote
Tank_Owl2,0 Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 He’s benefited from an improved level of fitness to get up and down the pitch. 1 Quote

As a professional footballer, a very well paid professional footballer, he should not have been able to improve his fitness that much, he should have been at the peak of fitness all the way through his time here, so on that score the comment below applies. 5 hours ago, Reesh said: He's found his level Quote
KrolMong Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 He’s a good league one, lower end championship player who Moore has a load of belief in. He’s been a 7 out of 10 pretty much every game since the start of last season, you can’t ask for anything more from him. 3 Quote

He clearly hasn't had the required fitness in the seasons prior. He's had a good season but he's also had several that haven't been good enough. Lost track of the times a player has scored from his area and he's just pondering back Quote
