So he sees Hirst up dore sometimes not actually at the club that he’s fallen out with 🙄 legend

Regardless of what has clearly gone off between DEH and DC, it doesn’t stop the legend of our best number 9 still being so.

He will always be a legend in my eyes just a shame he’s not around the club anymore 👍

Does this influence include getting rat arsed before and after a game?

Does what?
The game was very different of course when Hirsty played. Didn’t harm him though did it…..

I thought he meant when he was hosting at Hillsborough, as part of his post-retirement role?

Not denying, and never have, Hirst's ability and what he did for our club. Just remember seeing him in The Night Owl on many a Friday and Saturday night. My comment was aimed at being tongue in cheek.

It was a totally different time but these days how are we supposed to find the next Hirst if we're not prepared to throw a 19 year old up front and give him enough games to establish himself through a couple of early doors lean periods.

Teams don't take that gamble anymore. Clubs don't go watching school games (do schools even play on Saturday mornings anymore?) To unearth the next talent. They hold academy trials instead.

For some a legend, let's just say for some of us most definitely not, but 5 years ago today (thanks to Dunsby Owl on Twitter) the biggest failure vis a vis resources given finally left the Club

And may he never return

Let it go Kev

Can’t disagree.

If he wasn't a piss head, he'd have left us

If it wasn’t for Trevor Francis, he’d have left us. And potentially been the best striker the country has ever seen.

I'd have taken £3m plus Mark Hughes.

Could have used the Hirst money to buy Ferdinand, Holdsworth, even Deane just to piss THEM off

We nearly got Deane though…..
