It has happened, Reece James limped off Saturday and Famewo is already injured. If either (or both) of those is longer term it leaves us short on the left whereas we've ample cover in central midfield.

Yes, but the rumours were that he was added into the squad on Friday, i.e. before there was any suggestion of an injury to James.

And we have nearly a fortnight to see whether James is going to be out or not.

Not necessarily, it could be that we're without Reece James for a little while which leaves us short on the left if Famewo is out too.

But surely you’d wait until that happened before filling the last spot wouldn’t you?

Diaby can’t be added back into the squad till January now, which surely indicates that they’re not expecting him to be fit before then.

  3. How does the naming of the squad thing work?

Ia assume (other than filing empty spaces) that you can’t change it till the transfer window. Otherwise it defeats the object doesn’t it?

So if Johnson has been added then it must mean no prospect of Diaby being back any time soon.

  4. Another point!

The point from the 0-0 draw with Huddersfield is down to the clean sheet of course, so it’s the keeper and defence that get the credit. The defensive change came after the 70 minute cut off point for its 0.2 for Dawson, Ihiekwe, Iorfa and Bernard, and 0.1 for Palmer and James.

The AHA points are drying up a little. For the second game running it’s just a single yellow. Vaulks was the recipient v Huddersfield, and it puts him clear at the top.

  6. Just a single point from our visit to West Brom. Palmer’s booking brings him to within two points of the leaders.

  7. Where to start? Players had zero confidence in the first half; they’d just gone.

First goal was all down to the fannying about at the back, and then Vasquez surely should have done better from the corner. We’re conceding so easily from corners - it wasn’t like it was anything special they tried. Is it down to the zonal marking?

Second half was a little better, but let’s face it Sunderland had pretty much declared, and still looked more likely to add to their lead than we did to get one back.

The manager has got to go, he seems to be clueless. Nearly a quarter into the season and can anyone really tell what he’s trying to do?

  8. Well at least this is ticking along nicely.

Three points for Bambo Diaby v Sunderland; two for conceding the penalty, one for his second half booking. Delgado also got a yellow card.

  10. I’m not really seeing any positives from that I’m afraid.

Decent first half, but my God Middlesbrough were shocking; and we somehow let them dominate the second half.

It still seems so far off there being an obvious coherent plan of how we’re supposed to be playing. And those last subs - smacked of just a case of just trying something random and hoping it paid off.

  11.

Another point - who hoo. Musaba’s opener got us it v Middlesbrough. It gets him two points in Meaningful Goals.

it puts him top of both tables.

F**k me, I must have been really bad in my previous life.  Not much difference between the sides in the first half: they just looked a bit more polished. After they scored right on half time, though, we were extremely poor. Absolutely not at the races 2nd half and for much of it absolutely clueless. Ipswich won't have an easier half. No organisation, little apparent tactics, little spirit, often inferior passing, (put it in front of him!), inferior crossing - either behind ours or right over them. Multiple attempted foul throws, (paticularly Delgado, which he eventually achieved!) And finally, if anybody thought all our players were giving their all in the later stages, well I bloody didn't. As my mate Dave put it, (censored!), That second half was an absolute disgrace!  And just our luck: we're at home again on Tuesday!

I thought it was the other way round.

Truly awful first half, much improved after the break (although still very poor).

  15. And we’re off. Our point at Leeds was down to our clean sheet. With a 5-4-1 in operation that means 0.2 points for the keeper and the three centre halves, and 0.1 for the wing back. With Iorfa coming on (just) before the cut off point, he and Paterson share the spoils for the right wing back slot.
