Just catching up with this Mr Cheat.

Does Bannan get any downward points adjustment for winning his red card appeal?

    Not sure.

Traditionally I’ve left them on under the premise that he was sent off in the game.

But having said that I did retrospectively give Johnson three points for the Ipswich game last season.

    What do people think?

  2. Well I suppose an update to the secondary table is better than nothing.

Byers gets two points for giving us the lead At Birmingham.

I just find it wrong to be docking points at all

It’s never great to see a league table tarnished by teams with points deducted; but how do you punish in this scenario.

Reading the report, they took a decision to strengthen their team rather than stick to the rules.

Not fair on the sides that stuck to the rules and were relegated surely.

I understand that rules are rules and the rule breaker has to be punished, fully get that and the need to get control of football finances. But docking them 10 points effectually relegates them, its 25% of the required points for survival. I just feel for the fans who have bought season tickets in good faith and are now expected to to turn up and watch their team in all probabilities get relegated, I just think it's wrong and the leagues need to get off their fat arses and find alternative ways.

The flip side of that is that they survived relegation last season because they cheated.

  6. Yellows for Bernard and Paterson v Millwall. Paterson joins Vaulks at the top on six points.

Watched Luton vs Liverpool on MotD2 last night.

How come both goalscorers weren't booked?

Chong is the latest in a line of these types being ignored - it seems nobody gets cautioned for leaving the field of play and hugging the crowd nowadays.

Diaz, on the other hand, displayed a message on a t-shirt under his actual playing shirt. Regardless of the subject matter, and sympathy where it's due, it's a yellow card. No grey areas.

There was one a number of years ago. Think it may have been a Bolton player (against Arsenal?). He revealed a t-shirt dedicated to his late father (?) but the ref still did his job. Yes, it's unpopular, but it still has to be done as where do you draw the cut-off line? Dead cat / dog? Missing great Auntie / Uncle?

Not a good weekend for a number of officials.

I didn’t think a message on a shirt was a yellow, it’s just if you take your shirt off isn’t it?

He just lifted his shirt up to show the message.

  8. A red card for Bannan at Bristol City moves him to within two points of the top. There was also a first AHA point for Gassama courtesy of a yellow.

Do people genuinely believe that emails from the chairman have signatures that advertise Christmas parties?

Again - promotional stuff like that is often automatically added to all e-mails going out from corporate e-mail addresses.

Would be standard in our company whether it was from the MD or the cleaner.

    I really hope it’s fake - I suspect it’s not.

That’s what I’m getting at.  I understand the default message from an iPhone.  How can a phone do both, including one with graphics?

That’s just the standard way an e-mail sent from a corporate account on an iPhone shows isn’t it?

  11. At last. An update to this table.

Our first point v Rotherham was thanks to the clean sheet. The defensive substitution was after the cut off point, so it’s 0.2 for Dawson, Iorfa, Diaby and Bernard, and 0.1 for Paterson and James. Smith added the other two points.

In Meaningful Goals Smith gets two for his opener, and half a point for putting us two in front.

We’ve already moved stadium (from Olive Grove), changed name (from The Wednesday), and changed nickname (from the Blades). There’s even been periods when we’ve not had stripes on the home shirts.

We’ve got previous - so what would we change again in return for being a well run organisation?

Everyone will have a cut off point though won’t they? Just that it will be different for us all.

    Red Bull Yorkshire

    White and Red kit

    Stadium move to outside Sheffield

    You still in then?

If Red Bull come in and move stadium, change the name, kit, badge, then what is left of the club we support?

It’s MK Dons with better PR. Of course their hope is it would be more successful on the pitch than MK Dons, but if it’s a team that wins trophies wearing a different kit and badge with a different name in a different stadium that you want to watch then why not just go and watch Man City.

This is exactly where am I with this.

At what point is it not the same team?

    There's still a chance.

The fixtures we've had already, we've played most of the better teams in the league, the last 2 games were our best chance to put points up, the next 2 even better.

We still have to play Rotherham and QPR, with only 4 top half sides in the next 12 or so.

If we get nothing from this week, then it's time to panic.

Two of the easier games just gone and a return of one point is a big concern.

As others have said goals are the big problem. We just don’t seem to have a goal threat that is going to return more than one a game (in fact one would be a start), which means you’re asking a lot from your defence. We pretty much need them to keep a clean sheet for us to get anything.

I agree with KrolMong - limp on to January picking enough points up to still be within (long) touching distance, and then shrewd additions and we might just have a chance.

  17. I think we’ve got to be realistic and accept that it’s going to be one hell of an achievement if we stay up.

To be nine points adrift with a quarter of the season gone is massive. Three wins to get out of the relegation zone (assuming the others all stay still) when we’ve just put three points on the board so far.

I’m not being defeatist (well maybe I am), but I’ve all but accepted relegation.

It would seem out of character, but I wonder if Chansiri also has. These managerial/coaching appointments seem more long term than previous ones. Are we accepting a step down, but with a proper rebuilding project this time rather than a short term ‘get out of the division however we can’ approach?

  18. At Watford it was another single yellow card game. This time Hendrick was the one who went in the notebook
