Definitely.  It started yonks ago. Places that used to give us much or all of an end suddenly reduced our allocation. Huddersfield seemed to bring in lots of big flag waving tossers. Derby brought in their own fans to our area behind the goal and we ended up in a corner.

Yes they’re a couple of the ones I was thinking of.

Maybe as Bradowl says it’s to do with police/ stewarding costs. Although 3k instead of 2k away fans would seem a marginal difference to me, in the sense that you’ll probably need to same level of overheads and support for the number of coppers and stewards even if you need more boots on the ground. Presumably there’s some kind of  pivot of when it’s most cost effective for them. However when many of these stadia aren’t full for the majority of games it still seems odd to limit your ticket sales when you could sell more.

Why do folk keep saying 'assuming DR is still here" when he's under contract?

    Fuck me

To be clear Skamp, I’m not saying he won’t but this is football, we’d be naive if we didn’t recognise he may leave in the summer, as I say I don’t think he will, most clubs that might be a big temptation will probably want to see him do more than 1 season as the main man.

  3. I’ve not researched it, I’ll say that up front but I feel as though a few clubs have reduced the away fans allocation over the last few seasons, e.g. Huddersfield. Even Sunderland could have sold more to us. I realise that impacts all the away stats, but it just seems more that some clubs do it to try offset the away fans noise - but they seem to forget a noisy away end can spar the home fans, not to mention missing out on ticket sales.

  4. Enjoyed that.

I was fairly convinced he was going to leave us from what I’d heard on the grapevine because we were potentially going into L1 and he needed financial security but if he gets offered a 2-3 year deal I think he will stay.

I suppose DR needs to weigh up a) how many 30+ year olds does he want in his squad and b) can he get better quality with experience at this level (unlikely).

Theres Bannan, Palmer, Johnson, Icky, Patterson, Vaulks, Smith and Windass that provide the experience but is that too many? You could see 2 or 3 of those going along with James and Gregory. Personally I’d keep Pato for his flexibility, Vaulks for his work rate and Windass because he tends to turn up for the big games. Bannan will stay but maybe he can take some kind of player-coach role.

What financial credentials do you have that qualifies you to comment on DC's monetary position @bazapeps

It's been explained time and afuckinggain that the players wages issue was down to the change in stance by the Thai government in regards to money leaving the country

So it’s DC fault then 🤪

You can’t tell some people, facts are just conspiracy to some of these fuckwits.

And of course if we stay up DC will be blamed for us not getting promoted like Ipswich (I know they might not!)

  6. Ok I’ll admit I voted BB but I was close to voting for Vaulks. As others have said there are plenty that have had really good spells.

My calculation was based on contribution for the whole of the season, even if he’s also been up and down as well.

  7. There’s some good sport to be had on stalk at the moment winding up clusterfuccs on there about how DC is doing a great job or how sell-outs don’t to seem to fit there narrative. I suppose I’ll get bored of it soon enough, like I normally do.

That was attention seeking by the parent at its worst.

My main observation from that video is how Chansiri seems to have aged. I mean I always joke about my real age being 20 years lower than my Wednesday age - being owner must be exponential.

I actually think it would be good for his wellbeing if he can pass on the Club

I must admit I thought the same MK, that what nearly 10yrs being involved with this club does to you! 😂

  9. That’s as good a professional performance I’ve seen from a Wednesday team in a long time. I really enjoyed it and whilst your always thinking don’t mess it up now, I never felt we would.

The crowd were excellent today, except that handful of morons that ran on the pitch, the tool that decided to wave the corner flag at the stewards needs banning for a long time.

Yes we’ve had better players and squads of players but not always the best team. Every single players that played today deserves credit for what they did whether that was the front 3, midfielders, defence or goalie and the subs that came on.

Fingers crossed we are in the Championship next season and I’m sure there will be changes but there are players in that squad that DR can get a tune out of if he decides to keep them, of course some of the decisions will be dependent on what he thinks he can bring in but I suspect most of those out of contract would jump at staying at Hillsborough with this manager.

  10. 50 years, half a century, where has that time gone. I remember thinking how great it was both winning and the celebrations. The following few years put that in perspective!

It was my first game as well. I’d been pestering my Grandad and Uncle for ages to take me. Maybe they knew it might not be a good move having experienced years of ups and downs themselves. Although my Grandad did see us win at Wembley.

I wonder what kind of money we have spent on tickets etc in that 50years?
