Not going to open any of those rumours, it’s just clickbait.

I thought the same when I saw this, not only for Sunderland but Preston as well. As Ty suggest I don’t for one minute think it represents the number of not people turning up for a game, particularly the Blackburn game ie with it being so important

He’s in for the EFL goal of the month.

Not good enough according to the Attention Seekers. Danny Rohl was "sold down the river" with Jan recruitment apparently.
Should have signed Hogan 😂

I agree with a lot what’s been said. I’d add that the Championship is a mix of playing styles, team capabilities and team ethics and are better at what they do compared to L1 and arguably PL, which is why you often hear the coaches (including DR) that every week presents a different challenge.
Thats why we did ok in some games, well in others and struggled in a few. Although with no back up at all, I think something had happened which meant the players weren’t quite at the races against Boro.
As DR got his feet under the table he got his methods etc embedded which meant we were also good at what we did, so could impose ourselves which we never did under the Spanish void and flex when needed.
Its going to be fascinating to see what DR does to take things further next season.

Apparently Rosenior was sacked because of a difference in football philosophy with the owner. So IF DR was to be approached presumably the Dull owner would have to be happy with what DRs philosophy is as well.
Not going to happen.
I wonder if Garry Monk is available for the tigers?😂 I’m sure he’d be happy with the philosophy.

Of course having a squad that can play at this level is essential for any club/team to be competitive, but whilst it might sound obvious firmly believe the manager can be the difference between a team that does ok and a team that excels, compared to signing hit/ miss big name players.
So in part I agree with MK in that we overachieved after DR got his feet under the table, but I also think the squad improved generally as they got to grips with playing in this league.
If you look at the clubs that have been successful outside of those with the parachute payments and the budget / influence to attract the so called top coaches, it’s been clubs that have unearthed a top / unknown coach and also got a smattering of good loans. It was a different era, but Wilko was a bit of an unknown when he came to Wednesday in the 80s and look how we surged then.
We could potentially be in that situation right now.

Talk about deranged and factually wrong on most everything. Really needs to worry about his own club. Jealousy is such a waste of effort and time, move on fella.

Belter from Collins that.

Thanks for everything Greggers, good luck in the future.

I wonder how much say Rosenior has had on some of the signings at Hull, eg the so called big names. I get the impression the owner has had agents in his ear, sound familiar?
-
Surely their manager is going now? It’s not like they have been good at any time this season apart from their recent games against the victims and even in those games they were poor at times.
-
I don’t like Wrexham because a) they have a US owner and b) because of all the attention/ hype they are getting as a tinpot, won nothing of note club.

Definitely. It started yonks ago. Places that used to give us much or all of an end suddenly reduced our allocation. Huddersfield seemed to bring in lots of big flag waving tossers. Derby brought in their own fans to our area behind the goal and we ended up in a corner.
Yes they’re a couple of the ones I was thinking of.
Maybe as Bradowl says it’s to do with police/ stewarding costs. Although 3k instead of 2k away fans would seem a marginal difference to me, in the sense that you’ll probably need to same level of overheads and support for the number of coppers and stewards even if you need more boots on the ground. Presumably there’s some kind of pivot of when it’s most cost effective for them. However when many of these stadia aren’t full for the majority of games it still seems odd to limit your ticket sales when you could sell more.
-
I don’t generally go to friendlies, and I agree with Reesh, unless we playing Real Madrid etc we won’t sell out.
Anyway, I’d try and get a game against a PL team that will be near the bottom, maybe someone like Ipswich, as a benchmark on what standard we probably need to playing at to be challenging at the top.

Why do folk keep saying 'assuming DR is still here" when he's under contract?

Ron Atkinson
To be clear Skamp, I’m not saying he won’t but this is football, we’d be naive if we didn’t recognise he may leave in the summer, as I say I don’t think he will, most clubs that might be a big temptation will probably want to see him do more than 1 season as the main man.

I’ve not researched it, I’ll say that up front but I feel as though a few clubs have reduced the away fans allocation over the last few seasons, e.g. Huddersfield. Even Sunderland could have sold more to us. I realise that impacts all the away stats, but it just seems more that some clubs do it to try offset the away fans noise - but they seem to forget a noisy away end can spar the home fans, not to mention missing out on ticket sales.

Should be up there pal.
Presumably dependent onDR staying, but assume he will. So get it done, it’s not likely he or the club would be belligerent if DR did leave.

Enjoyed that.
I was fairly convinced he was going to leave us from what I’d heard on the grapevine because we were potentially going into L1 and he needed financial security but if he gets offered a 2-3 year deal I think he will stay.
I suppose DR needs to weigh up a) how many 30+ year olds does he want in his squad and b) can he get better quality with experience at this level (unlikely).
Theres Bannan, Palmer, Johnson, Icky, Patterson, Vaulks, Smith and Windass that provide the experience but is that too many? You could see 2 or 3 of those going along with James and Gregory. Personally I’d keep Pato for his flexibility, Vaulks for his work rate and Windass because he tends to turn up for the big games. Bannan will stay but maybe he can take some kind of player-coach role.

No one knows what’s going to happen. I do think DC will be in for an even more torrid time though if DR goes now after what he’s managed to do.
However today let’s just celebrate the great escape.

I think we may win it despite the manager, just because of the talent we have going forward, ie we will score more than you.

What financial credentials do you have that qualifies you to comment on DC's monetary position @bazapeps
It's been explained time and afuckinggain that the players wages issue was down to the change in stance by the Thai government in regards to money leaving the country
So it’s DC fault then 🤪
You can’t tell some people, facts are just conspiracy to some of these fuckwits.
And of course if we stay up DC will be blamed for us not getting promoted like Ipswich (I know they might not!)

Poveda…… I reckon we’ll see him on the pitch this weekendYou’d have thought have Poveda on the bench in case we need something, or I suppose he could go with Fletcher 😉

Ok I’ll admit I voted BB but I was close to voting for Vaulks. As others have said there are plenty that have had really good spells.
My calculation was based on contribution for the whole of the season, even if he’s also been up and down as well.

Maybe I just don’t see it being reported but I’m with you on this, there’ll be plenty of sanctions being handed out in that sense.
Whilst I agree with clubs being sanctioned as a principle, it also needs some common sense, which unfortunately doesn’t apply much these days.
