  1. The joy of keeping your old shirts to pass down the generations
  2. Unless its an xxxxxxxxxxxxl then I'm not interested. My Macron hoody is a large but I couldn't get into xxxl shirt. The sizing is fooking ridiculous
  3. Biggest shock from a negative point of view was Forest at home 89/90. Losing 3-0 then the Luton rumour starts flying round and the groundswell of relief rises and rises until it comes crashing down when the true result comes through. Never left a ground so dejected since.
  4. The deal that took Gibson from Newcastle to Everton had stipulations attached that would have took the fee past £6m At the time it was the biggest internal transfer deal for a 17 year old with no first team experience. He signed on his 17th birthday. Had a storming first season then broke down pre season and never been the same again
  5. 53 fella. Took my Pre-lim in 89 and my full badge in 91. Still got that horrible Charles Hughes 'bible' somewhere in the loft
  6. Liverpool away September 84. 15 years old and first away game travelling without my grandad. The whole experience was a shock from getting on the train, getting to the ground, the match and then the train ride home. The other shock was my dad's face when I got home stinking of alcohol. He wasn't bothered but I thought he'd go mental
  7. Had a Karcher for years and it was that powerful it blasted the top off an old flag and we found a fossilised fern imprint underneath. Then the motor went and we 'upgraded' to the latest version of the same one. It's shit. Doesn't even take the birdshit off the car bonnet never mind clean the patio. Can't swap the pressure gun attachments over cos they're slightly different fittings. MPB if you find a decent one then post on here and I'll take the hit, buy that, and put the one we've got on Gumtree
  8. Got a mate who's a DS on the Derbyshire force and he's thinking of getting out. CPS have not bothered with ten of his cases since Christmas as they're "not in the public interest" or as he puts it "not the right crimes for this month's stats and we haven't got the money anyway." CPS will only prosecute non headline crime if they're sure they can secure a verdict. That way their stats stay high. This week he's been sat behind a desk renaming file descriptions, duplicating data already on the system and redacting documents because the agency their force uses has staffing shortages.
  9. Perfect bikes on an immaculate surface with corporate sponsorship and hospitality. It's not Cookstown or Tandragee is it?
  10. Gibson got misdiagnosed with an injury playing for Everton U18s and has never been the same since.
  11. Adam Alimi-Adetoro is doing the rounds trying to get a deal somewhere. He was playing in Athlone Utds u19s then left to join Nike soccer but I think he's being released, hence trying his luck. I don't think he's good enough, technically, and we're releasing better players Lakhraj Singh has come from Sunderland's U18s and is another one who's too old to play 18s next season but can't get into their 23s
  12. John Ruddy will be looking for a new club at the end of the season. Matt Ryan wants to come back from Spain as it's not worked out for him at Real Sociedad
  13. McLaren officially left his paid role a little while after the administrators moved in. He made this big song and dance about stepping down so his wage would help preserve the tea ladies jobs. He offered to stick around in a non paid advisory capacity but it wasn't taken up by Admin. A short while later he appeared to be advising on the Jez Moxey/Andy Appleby takeover bid but that fell on its arse after he told everyone that the bid was going through and the future looked rosy.
  14. That's like listening to something from 1987. Got potential dance remix written all over it though
  15. Splendour, in Nottingham, is back over two days and has some decent acts on. Richard Ashcroft, Happy Mondays, Supergrass, Razorlight, Sleeper, Ocean Colour Scene, The Magic Numbers, The Selecter https://www.splendourfestival.com/line-up/
  16. The people who run it are the ones who own the rites to the Leadmill name. As already said, it'll become a soulless pop world palace. It'll die on its arse within three years and give the landlords the opportunity to turn it into student accommodation.
  17. For the first 18 months I don't think any of our signings were made by him. He was told to coach whoever walked through the door. That's why quite a few hardly put on a shirt. At Rio Ave and Braga the set up is more his but also the money is tighter so those outside influences seem to have disappeared. At Braga he's having to work through their youth system but they've always had a decent set up so the quality is there.
  18. His recent bid to buy Preston makes interesting reading. It's that deal falling through that has brought him back to Derby. He wants to pay £15m for the stadium
  19. Karl Darlow signed a new five year deal in 2020 on £30k a week. Even in the Championship I wouldn't want to go back to paying stupid wages.
  20. It's starting to happen more and more that when club's are telling younger players thanks but no thanks they're then allowing them to trial and play at other clubs when they're still contracted. This was triggered by the EFL relaxing player movement 2 months prior to contracts ending. We seem to be on the ball more than other clubs, though, and players do seem to want to come. Last Easter I think we ran almost an American style tryout camp which resulted in our current crop of U18s. Whatever we did it seemed to work
  21. Waldock won't have any problems getting another club but it may depend on how low he wants to drop. As I said on the other site, I think Bullen, if he's still in a job, will try and sign some of the released 23s but would you go there to try and kickstart your first team career or try your luck at a National or National North club
  22. Next Alfie May? He's got a long way to go. If he's going to regularly play Isthmian league football next season then I'd try and do something that left him there. Either on a first dibs retainer or sign him and send him back. Playing that level might see him progress quicker. Ramsgate, arguably, have a better developed midfielder. Eze Ebuzoeme is a big unit for his age but is nippy and agile to go with the solidity and covers the ground well. He's been in the Millwall youth system and also at Gatafe. Will Couch, the other trialist mentioned in that report, is interesting. He's been with Burnley since 13 years old and has been with their 18s this season. He finds himself looking for another club purely because He's too old for the 18s next season and there's literally no room for him in their 23s. A lot of Burnley's 18s are in a similar position. He's another central midfielder and plays a bit like Byers. A lot of Burnley supporters who follow their youth system can't understand why they've let him go and not sent him out on loan somewhere but that might have been his choice to try elsewhere.
  23. Local papers reporting that the local council is looking to buy the stadium for £20m and lease back to the new owners. Bit of a come down from the £80m he supposedly valued and bought it for? Would this difference factor into further accounting sanctions?
  24. I think Owling's alluding to the shambles of the ostracism of Westwood by certain managers, for whatever reason, and the coaching of both Dawson and Wildsmith which didn't address their fallibilities
  25. Both Wildsmith and Dawson wouldn't have problems finding new clubs at L1 standard or below so they need to go while that window of opportunity is there. But neither of them are regular championship standard and that's what we need to find, regardless of which division we're in next season. We need to find a 22/23 version of the 14/15 Westwood.
