If I remember rightly it was about £14/15m they were paying for him at the time of signing.

So if their instalment of £7m was plus interest, then maybe it is more than 2 instalments..

The first instalment was for £5.3 mill which went up to £7 with interest .

I am a bit puzzled,  surely Sala should have been insured by somebody . Nantes sold him so off their insurance but as Cardiff now saying that they didn't actually sign him he would not have been added to their insurance . Seems to be a fuck up all round

  2. I was at the Santos game in 72 . I was a student at Middleborough at the time , a load of us drove down just to see him . I think there was a doubt about Pele's fitness whether he would play or not . But he did but was heavily strapped at one point today he would not have been risked

  3. There is more to the Di Canio story . I worked for a French Group with UK subsiduary based in Sheffield . We had  an Exec seconded to us from France for a few years . His kids were in the same school as Di Canio's and they knew him quite well . At the start of Term in September Di Canio's kids not there , they  had left . The story being Di Canio was not going to be in Sheffield for very long .  Our Exec allways suspected Di Canio  orchestrated  the incident in order to get away

Agreed. Hard enough finding the money for none essential stuff without being left to pay extra to get there. I'd assume some couldn't. An apology doesn't really cover what they paid for tickets and travel. Any who couldn't make other arrangements and those that did pay extra should be refunded for the amount due by the company. Very much doubt 2 coaches broke down at the same time either.

Have to agree . Any decent travel Company would have a Plan B which usually meant a cross hire from another coach company
