My memory was that we incorporated the Dambusters theme (the non-we all hate Leeds version) after the Kaiserslautern games into our repertoire; and were still singing it by the time that semi final at Old Trafford came around.
At that game it was a very small burst of it as I think most Wednesdayites thought “hang on we can’t really sing that here”.
The home leg was a different matter though - it was sung on purpose, but as a reaction to their actions after the first leg.
I mean I recall that day. We had the entire end behind the goal, but I was sat side where the away fans go these days.
A few at the other side did it fairly early on, it provoked a home fan reaction all round and like you say it was "don't be fucking stupid doing that here"
Anyway cue 10 minutes to go the stupid element decided to give it another go. WTF.
I said to my mate this is going to be fun. Anyway we just happened to be next to a gangway so straight out on the whistle, but had said to my mate make sure nothing Wednesday related on display, coat fully zipped up, head down, just get to the road blend in and say fuck all. That bit worked, but could hear it all kicking off behind. The down side is we were on the ICO and last part fairly evident we were Wednesday fans. Coppers gave no shits whatsoever. So there was about 6 of us made it back, told the driver to shut the frigging doors. It felt like ages as the ruddy coaches came under attack. We were fortunate as they were parked 3 or 4 abreast and ours was on the inside. Still had at least one window go in and them trying to get in the emergency exit. Eventually the coppers decided they had best intervene and again an age later the rest of the Wednesday fans turned up. My one and only visit to Old Trafford - well I went to rugby league once

I foolishly backed Bruce despite my reservations and was ultimately proven wrong to do so.
Plenty of managers out their to go for!
Tbh I would accept his kind offer, then after surviving push him into the river and walk away with the life ring

I mean there is desperation as a Wednesday fan
And then there is wanting Warnock as a manager.
Let's get to the nub though, whoever comes in it will be no better than a plaster over a gaping wound. It may buy time and that could be the one salvation, as what is needed is a fundamental change in the operational side of the first team.
For that it needs one of 2 things. A complete change of mindset by Chansiri that he has the capability to oversee it. He doesn't
Or he sells out and any new people set out a long term plan.
-
The only empathy you could have is if the signings were not in his remit which is the likelihood.
But he has made so many mistakes with the squad old and new that it isn't much.
I usually dismiss pre-season results and performance levels, but the critical reaction to those games by many on here turned out to be salient.
Given everyone then said give him 10 games, well he got that and frankly nothing improved in that time.

Thank goodness, 3 games too late but at least its done.
What a dreadful appointment it turned out to be. Completely destroyed the team and played the most odd possession based attacking football i've seen.
A possession game that involved us having no possession. It was a marvellous tactic.

All his back room staff gone as well.
What an absolutely disaster of an appointment he was. Thankfully it’s not too late to turn things around, but whoever the next manager is they’re going to have one hell of a job to do!
The backroom staff looked as clueless as him
I wonder if Bannan and Windass will suddenly be recovered for the weekend

There was no start to his talents

I think for 2 effectively already relegated sides that pricing is appropriate

Not really a football town in truth so only a smattering of them. They have the advantage of being above what would be considered their natural level, so are a bit more pragmatic about it all.
Where is the fun in being pragmatic !

Anyway as OO is being blamed for the banner being taken down, my money is on Owling even though he was 20 minutes late

If we give him the season, we'll not even achieve the 21 points total (make it 26 if it was 3 points for a win) we got in the 1974/75 season. We're currently on course to get a massive 9 points
The club will be that badly damaged, it would take a rebuild bigger than anything Darren Moore, Jack Charlton or Paul Sturrock could achieve.
We cannot afford another Danny Wilson moment where we keep the manager in charge far longer than he should be. He has to be clearing his desk tomorrow morning
Be hopes he takes his bingo machine with him

Yep seen that, be hopes most of your office like rugby or summat.

To answer my own question just checked we did 20 games without a win in 74/75.
Our losing run "best" is 8 games. So the Xisco kid ably sponsored by our owner have got something to aim for at least
-
So what is our worst ever sequence without a win. I presume given our historical shiteness we are not anywhere close yet. Presume 74/75 is the standard bearer on this, but certainly I feel like we have had mid season winless runs of greater magnitude.
I ask because I am failing to see where that victory is going to come. Perhaps the Udders game but I can see that being a strange atmosphere with Moore's return.
I mean an improved display last night, marginal as it was, failed to lay a glove on an opposition that played in 2nd gear.

Is this the worst start to a season in our history? Or have I got that wrong.
Yep worst start officially in our history

Anyway I have finally worked out the tactics. You drag the opposition down to your own piss poor standards. You hope they get so bored that their keeper falls asleep and you hope to lump one ball near enough to your attacker, the defender keels over in shock and you might get a shot on target

Tbf it is once it gets to the end stages, but can guarantee it will be talked down by the start of next season.
It annoys me when the mid tier teams dismiss it -
