    This was called something similar until it was decided to commemorate a much loved poster who sadly passed away.

    Lets not got erasing history eh

    I was not talking about re-naming the Martin Haigh Suite.

    I am just trying to get a new forum next to the Martin Haigh Suite, where we can post all the topics, which annoy Reesh.  Just a new area, where I can post cup games and videos and all the other things without being an nuisance .

    Is the rule still in place where you have to play a percentage of players that have played in your last couple of games?

    Great question. Nearly forgot that the cup had all those dodgy rules

    Rules - EFL

    Guess my team is ok under those rules.  We need four "Qualifying outfield players"

    My team would be fine :

    Pato (7.4.3)  Ihiekwe (7.4.1)  James

    J. Hunt (7.4.4) Adeniran  (7.4.4)  Vaulks (7.4.3)   A. Hunt    Brown

    Mighten (7.4.5)  Wilks (7.4.4)

    7.4.3. List:

    image.png.3a2b6702d956ea2bab46dcb6b3f0fd5c.png

    7.3  Each EFL Club shall play its Full Available Strength in and during all Matches.

    ‘Full Available Strength’ means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

    7.4  Qualifying Player means any Player who:
     7.4.1  had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);
     7.4.2  subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;
     7.4.3  is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;
     7.4.4  has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or
     7.4.5  is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

    7.5  First Team Fixture means the League Competition, Premier League, EFL Cup or FA Challenge Cup (but shall, in the context of Rules 7.4.3 and 7.4.4 only, also include this Competition).

    Just need Hirst and Dean now and that should conclude our business for this window.

    OK, that's a tongue in cheek post, no need for bites.

    I don't see a Hirst deal, but Dean might really be an option.

    We are already short in the defensive area and he still seems to be available. Maybe there is a deal to be done.

    I’ve given it a couple of nights before posting, but I’m still a bit disappointed with how the game progressed on Saturday. Is it just me?

    I’ll get the caveat in first. I appreciate that it’s the points that count and having secured them at half time it’s mainly about seeing the game out whilst minimising the risk of fatigue and injuries. And five goals is nothing to sneeze at, but…

    But I left the ground feeling short changed. At 4-0 I was hoping for a thumping win. I don’t think I’ve ever seen us score 8. It’s years since a 7. Why not go for 10? It wasn’t beyond the realms of possibility if we’d have stuck to the task. I’d like, just once, to see us get a truly big score. FGR we’re worse than Cheltenham last season when similar happened and we stuck at 6.

    What made it worse for me was seeing the Scouser’s go from 5 at half time. They didn’t sit back and take it easy second half. Neither did Celtic yesterday. Top teams don’t reflex until the final whistle: and we’re a top team in this league. Did nice chap Darren Moore feel sorry for them? If so, leave that for full time.

    But it’s not just the lack of second half goals. I was hoping when the subs came on that we’d see whether Adeniran really can be a future replacement for Bannan. Let’s see whether the hype about Wilks has been justified. Give him something to chase down the channels or behind the big defenders. But no, neither showed anything much. That’s not to aim criticism their way: when the rest of the team is playing walking football, it’s difficult for anyone else to get going.

    And whilst we rested legs, it seems that we rested minds too. There was a lot of sloppy passes in the second half. Players just not concentrating. All in all, a good first half, second half was a stroll, but a wasted opportunity, and somewhat disappointing.

    It's not just you.  I also had hoped that we would have scored some goals in the second half.

    IMO we should have brought on three or four fresh players at halftime, who are hungry to put their name on the scoresheet.

    Maybe it was better this way to avoid unnecessary injuries, but I was still disappointed. DM might have learnt from the Portsmouth game last season, when Bannan made his ridiculous run although we already had won the game. The knock he took from that overexcited run might have contributed to our poor performance in the playoffs.

    Sums you up. You don't get it.

    I absolutely get it.

    Many people claim that they don't want to be in that competition - not because they don't want to win, but because they are afraid of the embarrassment of losing.

    Some people believe that we are to important as a massive club to participate in the pizza cup.

    I still enjoy it. It's a great opportunity to give our fringe players a game and for me it's always great, if we win anything. And a day out at Wembley is always nice - especially as I might be able to get tickets and travel there.

    Usually motivates a footballer rather than staying put in a mediocre division. Windass may stay, not by choice but cos we don't let him leave.

    He stays because he right now loves playing for us.

    Last season I was sure that he would be happy to leave, but he won't leave right now. He's scoring goals, has persuaded Wilks to join us, gets on well with the gaffer and looks forward to promotion... and last but not least, he also earns very good money here.

    Why  should he leave??

    Aye righto

    He doesn't turn down football in a higher division - he's just postponing it for a season as we'll be in the Championship next year as well.

    I am aware that some people actually believe that money is the only motivation, but trust me.. it isn't. There are many people, who try to make sure that their work-live balance is right.
