HoylandOwl
https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2022/july/next-stop-portugal-for-wednesday/ With pre-season well underway, next stop for the Owls is a week-long warm weather training camp in Portugal. The SWFC contingent heads across Europe to step up preparations for the long 2022/23 campaign ahead. Speaking after our 2-0 friendly win at Harrogate on Friday night, assistant manager Jamie Smith said: “The whole of our pre-season has been mapped out and all the plans are in place. We’ll be having some intense training sessions and as far as team bonding goes, Portugal will be invaluable, especially for the group of new players we have brought in. “The lads will be spending all their time together, whether that’s on the training pitch, at all the meals times and then relaxing after the training. “It’s been pleasing with the games we have had so far to see some of the things we have taken from training out onto the pitch. “There’s still plenty of work to do and we’re really looking forward to the next leg. “You really need at least three of four games to hit your stride and get towards you want to be. Portugal is the next part of that process.” The Owls are scheduled to play newly-promoted Premier League side Bournemouth in Portugal in a behind closed doors training game on Friday 15 July. We then return to base and welcome Spanish La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano to Hillsborough the following Wednesday. In the meantime, keep right up to date with the Owls’ pre-season in Portugal here at swfc.co.uk and across our social media channels.
