VAR…. In the playoff finals

Recommended Posts

It's because Wembley already has it installed. PGMOL charges £20k per game just for it to be in operation, then there's the installation which is upwards of £75k and all just for one semi final.

FA stipulates that all FA cup games should make use of VAR where possible, but it doesn't tell you who foots the bill. Rochdale played away at Newcastle a couple of season's ago and found over £6k was deducted from their gate receipt split in order to pay the VAR bill.

When the play off finals are worth what 8m in TV revenue between LG 1 and Championship its bugger all.

Its about equal chance throughout

All depends if the VAR decision goes for or against I suppose.

Will the refs allocated the finals be Premier League Refs used to VAR ?

Premier League ref Simon Hooper doing the League 1 game. Lee Mason on VAR. The other two games haven't been announced yet.

Be interesting to see how Hooper gets on as he's been in the Prem since 2018 and League 1 is a different ball game to that standard
