The Owls overcame a tricky hurdle on Tuesday night at Hillsborough with a narrow 1-0 win over relegated Crewe.

With three games of the season to play, it’s full focus for manager Darren Moore and his squad on the next fixture.

Wednesday’s performances have been strong and consistent, particularly throughout the second half of the campaign.

A successful Easter period has seen Moore’s side jump up into fourth spot in what has become a compact promotion picture.

With twists and turns inevitable until the final whistle of 2021/22 sounds, the gaffer is focused only on Sheffield Wednesday and the next game.

The Owls head to promotion rivals Wycombe on Saturday and Moore said:

“The bar has been set really, really high this season in League One.

“We have been on a tremendous run of games and a good points tally but you see where we are in the table and it just goes to show the terrific season that teams have been having.

“It shows the competitiveness of the division, we predicted it would be this competitive from the start so it hasn’t surprised me.

“It will ebb and flow right until the end of the season but the big thing for us is continuing as we are and focusing on us here at Wednesday.”

Just under 2,000 Wednesdayites will be in attendance at Adams Park this weekend in a crunch clash at the top end of the table.

“It’s about making sure we are competitive and that we are in the fight in every game. In the fight to try and get those three points.

“We came through a difficult test on Tuesday night, credit to the players and we will get the rest in and recover and get ready for the game at the weekend which will be another tough one for us.”
