Christ did that p*** me off that night.

Call me small minded, don't care, but not forgiving him ever 4 that regardless if he is on our coaching staff or not.

Bet he couldn't do it now....

What about if him and Gregory do it at the Bramall Lane end after we've knocked them out of the FA Cup?

  2. Agree with the last two posts. It's a 50/50 appointment. The lack of management experience is not really an issue for me. If he gets two years to stamp his authority on the team (and we see some semblance of a style of play in the meantime, even if results aren't great) I'll take that.

I mean of the new signings, I think the only improvement is Bernard, though the loss of M Diaby may have been pivotal.

Any new manager is starting with a very low base

Agree about Bernard and think Vasquez was unlucky not to keep his place. Dawson has improved, but he's not good enough for the Championship

Let's be right we won't play many (any?) worse sides this season needed three points was disappointing not to get them, but we created so little.

We did look a team low on confidence, the Palmer mis control was clear evidence of that. I would have hooked Paterson at half time thought he was woeful.

Bernard has been the one bright spot though looks a real player.

And Moore still couldn't score against us even though he knew the team inside out

    By win % -

For those that can't see the above.....

    1st 1958-61 Harry Catterick 55.80%

    2nd 2021-23 Darren Moore 51.16%

    3rd 1961-64 Vic Buckingham 47.01% …

    36th 1988-89 Peter Eustace 11.11%

    37th 2020 Tony Pulis 10%

    38th 2023 Xisco Munoz 0%

Appreciate I'll be in the minority, but think if circumstances had been different Pulis could've done a decent job. Eustace and Munoz could've had unlimited transfer funds and still been shite

I’ll be honest I don’t get half of that but what I do get is DC has to be creative in getting money into the club I just don’t get these bellends that think just cause it was £20 cheaper 10 years ago that he’s having our pants down.
But I would imagine DC won’t give a shit about some pleb on Facebook. Probably mates with Bartos.

There's being creative and there's taking the piss. My seat on the North was 485 quid to renew in January (which I did) and the same seat was 735 quid just before the start of the season. £735 for a Championship relegation battle, really?

Another minor point. It was £4 a pint last season. It went up to £4.50 March/April time and is now a fiver. Personally I'm not bothered, but people who sit near me will start drinking somewhere instead of the ground where there's a better choice for the price

  7. As much as I wasn't Moore's biggest fan, had we played the last 4 league games with his 3-5-2 and most of last years starting XI would we be better off pointwise? I think probably, but long term it would still have been a relegation battle. Ripping it up and starting again wasn't the answer. Just hope today's formation and lineup was a realisation for Xisco despite the result

Do you stick with the 3 5 2 formation ? It seems better suited

The massive caveat is that we need wing backs for that to work.

And the more pertinent issue is that none of the strikers are good enough at this level

    Dawson

    Palmer

    Iorfa

    Diaby

    Famewo

    Johnson or James

    Bannan

    Vaulks (until Diaby is fit)

    Byers

    Musaba

    Windass

I'd be happy with that to be fair, but with Gregory in for Windass

But, none of the forward players offered anything, and that includes the subs.

Gregory scored with his only real chance and had little support from midfield. Delgado wasn't a threat, but I thought he showed a few glimpses of what he might be capable of once he adapts. Musaba offered nothing? Looks like he's got skill and pace and totally different to anything we've seen for years based on tonight. Fletcher looks more mobile and more physical than Smith.
