Didn’t Scanlon retire from football saying he had won the pools but he hadn’t

The first set of pics are of course Prendergast, Feely (our worst player ever?) and Henson

Following the "success" of my 1979/80 promotion pics I thought I would post a few more of my mates pics from the day. He was (and still is) a keen photographer and preferred taking black and white pics to colour because he could develop them himself rather than some trendy fashionable reason
July 1976 - Shipp Cup - pre season tourament invented by Cambridge and included Peterborough and Lincoln - we won all three games and therefore THE cup
This is the 3-2 home win against Peterborough - 3,275 - Feely, Prenergast, Potts

We lost our penultimate game at Exeter but Chesterfield lost as well so we were promoted
We drew our last match 0-0 with Carlisle with 32,734 there and it's the only time I've ever been on the pitch
My mate took a few pics at the game
For those that know me they might be surprised to know that that is me on the left. The dried blood spots on my scarf are from getting a brick on my head at that Exeter game that needed 3 stitches later at Torquay hospital. How cool are Wednesday wrist bands?

I loved James' reaction too - I thought he was surprised by the stepover and didn't quite control it properly and just managed to toe poke it under the keeper
I also loved Dawson's reaction to their goal - no sulking or head in hands - just got the ball straight out of the goal and got the ball back up for the kick off
Back to the 4th goal - Palmer is on his way up but isn't even anywhere near the box when Vaulks is drying the ball with the towel. If he hadn't have dried the ball - like John Pearson was shouting - Palmer definitely wouldn't have scored

What row? I was hoping for row 1 but had to settle for row 2
I went for 5 tickets on Row 1 but when I tried to add to the basket it said one of the seats was unavailable
Changed to Row 2 but the same thing happened
Managed to get on Row 6

And another thing before palmers goal in the 90 100th minute we get a throw in we take the throw in short then just pass it to Vaulks who picks it up wipes it and cobs it in. Have I missed summat?
Windass (I think) gets the ball and throws it to Palmer as quick as he can from where the ball landed but the ref tells us to take it from where the ball actually went out
Meaning that Palmer managed to get into the penalty area for the throw
Thanks ref

We beat them 1-0 at home but it was the third last game
I seem to think both us and Arsenal got into trouble for fielding weekened teams
We lost at Blackburn and at QPR after that
-
Isn't there rules about playing weekened sides - especially as Derby are involved in stuff
If there isn't they will invent one and deduct us enough points to finish 7th or even into the bottom four

Andy Monkhouse has resigned from Tadcaster Albion
He took over in January when they were rooted to the bottom of the league with just 8 draws
He at least managed to get 4 wins from the remaining matches
Could he?

That win was actually in Bath

“The two sides will be facing one another for the first time since 1977, which Sheffield Wednesday were victorious in after a 2-0 win in Division Three”
That’s not true we played a pre-season friendly against them 7 or 8 years ago at Bootham Crescent
