    I reckon that is a very decent appointment for a club in our position. A guy with Premier League experience who was a long way from being a disaster at that level, who’s still young, and has experience of different leagues/nationalities/football cultures.     It wasn’t the decision, it was the fact that Cummings didn’t withdraw his appeal. Lords is just about the politest sporting venue I’ve ever been to, and it’s very raucous after that incident. God knows what Headingley will be like next week. Good luck with trying to improve over rates if batsmen have got to prat around making absolutely sure the ball’s dead until they walk down the pitch to talk to their batting partner.

    In 156 years of The Wednesday/Sheffield Wednesday every single home kit has contained blue and white, some have contained black, none have contained any other colour apart from trim or other minor details like sponsors name. We have three bitter local rivals who all wear red. Red Bull know what they’re doing, but they are not the only people in the world who understand how to use data.

    Iachini has got four different teams promoted from Serie B to Serie A. That’s the good news. The bad is the last time was 2014. Given that DC appointed Jos and Pullis, it sounds plausible. A guy who would’ve been an exciting appointment a decade ago, whose star has slightly waned, who convinces Chansiri he’s still got he’s still got it. If we offer him a shit basic and massive bonuses for playoffs or automatic then who knows.

    Stuart Webber available as Sporting Director and has a track record of getting promoted from the Championship with German coaches, and without spending much. That Lieberknecht bloke got Darmstadt up from Bundesliga B last season on a limited budget. One of his first team regulars was Christoph Zimmerman, who was one of Webber’s Norwich signings… Ok I’m probably being optimistic and trying to imagine a coherent long term plan. More likely Chansiri and Moore fell out over how much was going to be spent on the pre season training camp.

    Yep heard this many times, our original nickname was the Blades, and changed to the Owls. Theirs was the Cutlers, and changed to the Blades when we discarded the nickname…just like the old stadium of ours that they play in.
