@dannnu1.
what are your thoughts on Poole, a player we were linked with a few weeks ago?Any rumours on where he might end up?
-
I think he stated his Wednesday career with a burst down the wing and a low cross for a goal and I was optimistic that we’d got a decent player. He never repeated the feat. Seemed to lack confidence. I think he was always confused with the wingback role as to whether or not he was defending or attacking.
There was the tackle back, mentioned by @Owling_Wolf, v Peterborough, but he’s never a defender.
He needs a run of games, he’s a confidence player, in a more attacking role where he’s not got too much to think about and he’ll do ok. Not a lot, but better than Shodipo.

Never heard of him until this week, so I’ve got no negative opinion of him, unlike most of the other candidates.
So on balance, pleased with this appointment. Now some players…

I’m nay fan of all these manager puns.
I’ll by reight smiffed if it isn’t sorted soon.

I read it very different ie 4 times my current salary and a 3 year contract. Though the misnomer is that when a manager gets sacked they get the full amount left. Depends on the severance package in the Ts and Cs. But then I suspect most managers negotiate unfair dismissal top up.
I’ve read it again, and you may be right. I’m probably giving DM some credit by, wrongly, assuming that he’s not a greedy twat. An increase on promotion (even if it was almost thrown away) and / or a longer deal is understandable, but 300% increase is indefensible. Unbelievable even.

Who on earth is going 2 pay him four times his current salary. He was one game away from sack!
I can understand him wanting a rise but four times over 3 years!!!
Maybe DC is learning.....
That’s not how I read it.
Assuming he was on a one year rolling contract, he wanted a 33% increase and a three year contract, I.e. 4 years current pay over three years.
There’s nothing about what DC offered, if anything, or would have settled at. He put the onus on DM to propose something lower, something DC could accept.

Come on Dejphon - announce Campelos cause I like the sound of him and has a fantastic website or think outside the box and give Brian Barry-Murphy a go.
I’m in agreement.
I know insufficient about Campelos to have serious negative views.
BBM could be the up and coming coach / manager we seen y at other clubs. Of course he could be a dud, but I’d be content with his appointment.

Of course, I just wonder if some might have delayed after DM leaving or been put off.
I wonder how many STs we realistically sell at this stage anyway. It might different if we were being to the PL.
I have no inside info on ST sales, but would be amazed if we didn’t currently sell well over 80% of our STs in the early bird phase.
If we were regulars in the PL, without any ground capacity increase, and without Chansiri managing demand through Arsenal style prices, I suspect that we’d sell out the complete ground with STs.

I don't wish FDB any ill will but I suspect that in 18 months he'll be back in league 1 or, at best, at a bottom half championship team.

Predictions this season according to Jobi McAnuff.
Promoted - Middlesbrough, Southampton, Leicester
Surprise package - Sunderland
Biggest surprise transfer from the EFL - Gyokeres.
Relegation - Huddersfield Town, Rotherham, Plymouth.
In what way would Sunderland be a surprise package?
Last season they made the play offs, didn’t they? So if Jobi thinks they’re not getting promoted, perhaps he thinks they’re a surprise relegation candidate?

Forget that^^^^^.
Spurs are on as well.

So first weekend and five of the “big six” on TV.
Unless you count Newcastle as the new Spurs, then it’s 6/6.
Same old. Man City for the title again.

EFL response. He's local and already part owns the rugby league club so must be a good lad. Sign it off.
However some locals are thinking he's stepped in purely to make a profit when he sells it again in a year's time.
Could it be that he’s just after the ground?
Move the rugby club in and force/price the football club out? -
I thought he looked quite a decent prospect in the few games he played for us. Depending on his injury recovery, I’d get him a half season loan for a league 1 side until/from January. If he does well, he could be ready to replace Iorfa.

I've been told that we broke even on the shirts last season. We made no money even though we had our highest shirt sales.
The new price is the price of the last championship shirt plus 20%.
You probably don’t know the answer to this, but I’ll ask anyway seeing as there’s loads of economists on here.
How do you fail to make a profit selling, by the thousand, a product for £45 plus vat that costs <£5 (I’m guessing there)?
Maybe it’d be more economic to change the shirt alternate years like we did 20(?) years ago.

EPL starts week after EFL so us and pigs can both start with home games.
I think we will get a local(ish) game: Hull City at home to start.
-
I don’t think we’ll be playing anyone on 22nd June!
Xisco Munoz OFFICIALLY is our new manager.

Have to say that I’m a bit less enthusiastic today than I was yesterday.
A coach/manager that has never lasted a year may fit well with Chansiri’s rolling one year contract, but I get the feeling that the bloke isn't particularly unhappy to keep moving around.
I suspect that he’s a coach more than traditional manager and is content to have limited say in transfers. But he has a style that differs from our recent approach, so are the players on Chansiri’s/Moore’s list still suitable? Is there any pace amongst them? I think we can adapt what we have to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, but it’s weak and we’ll get overrun in midfield. Getting suitable players in, that improve on what we have, with time to gel with existing players, needs sorting urgently. I’m not confident that we’ll do that successfully.
