Really do wish him all the best going forward.  Like you say, he's one of those that only grows on you as time goes by.

 

Used to work with a Bristol City fan who hated the play off final coming round each year as it was odds on that that goal would be shown.

My Mum was diagnosed with it in 2013.  It’s worst for the person with it at the start, when they’re still just about compus mentus enough to realise that it’s slipping away.  For families it’s bereavement in slow motion.  Occasionally and unexpectedly it gets to you.  But to be honest, one of the things that gets on my nerves is people who always want to talk about that first whenever they see you.  It’s just not humanly possible to be continuously sad about something for 11.5 years and counting.

Its stressful, but it just becomes the new norm
