Thanks for sharing Reesh, he was an absolute pioneer, a one of a kind, and a manager who IMO would have had England winning something

Yet we knight serial losers like Southgate

I was there when we lost 1-0 at Forest on 1st April 1975 to a dodgy penalty and were relegated to Division 3

if I remember correctly Clough was on the verge of being sacked because he hadn’t won a game before that one

Living in Nottingham you can't move in the city centre without seeing Forest red at the moment.

The anniversary is playing a major part but also their current league position.

And I for one think it's fucking fantastic for football, never minded Forest.

He’s a proper manager is Nuno. They’ve done some brilliant business and he’s got a way of playing that suits them and hurts everyone else.

Now imagine how much better Spurs might have been if they’d kept him and not recruited Ange (who I think is just a high profile Garry Monk).

I have a bit of time for Forest and Villa. Two proper clubs who are doing well.

Always had a soft spot for Villa.  Went to the League Cup Final replay when they played Everton in 1977. Bitterly disappointed they went to a third game before winning it as I'd have loved to have seen it live.

I too have had no issue with Forest, either historically or now good luck to them. Some of my earliest football memories are of their back to back euro wins. I was born in 1970 and therefore Wednesday were in the 3rd then and football was limited on TV, especially live games. Also I've no problem with Villa really, BFR aside as I lived in Solihull 84-93 and a lot more of my mates were Villa fans than Brum. I must confess to going to Villa Park a few times with them including standing on the Holt End against Wednesday, we scored (don't remember the score) and they were all worried I'd celebrate and get filled in. I smiled widely and avoided a rumble.

On the subject matter...a certain ex Wednesday Manager was chosen over Clough for the Barcelona Job although that was a few years before Clough achieved his silverware.

Whilst I don't disagree with the sentiment that Clough was indeed the greatest manager England never had timing does exist. The same ex Wednesday Manager MAY have changed the landscape after Sir Alf.

Ange's approach is not going to work at Spurs long term, I know still in league cup but it's just a nonsense approach. Wouldn't be surprised to see him gone this month or next if they go out in the semi final.

There's not a lot you can hang your hat on there.
