DirtyOwl Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Hope we get some signings in early this month to hopefully shut the bellends up, well at least in regard to transfers. I’m sure they’ll have something else to moan about. 1 Quote
Hirstys 12th Pint Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Never been to one of these and morbid curiosity might make me apply for a ticket and watch the car crash. If I was raising points for the meeting it would be around timing of renewals and the number of phases - not the prices as if buying at the lowest level represents value. Just simplify the bl**dy thing. Also would be interested in an update on the Infrastructure element of the Club and the improvement plans for the Ground. And of course price of Grab Bags of Walkers from the Kiosks. Quote

The biggest problem will be people asking questions that have already been answered, either because it's not been made clear or they don't like the answer. The Early birds are a pre Chansiri thing, but now because that's how the cashflow comes into the club, we're stuck with because it'll take a lot of liquid cash to sort out into the normal timeslots. The phases are to increase urgency. If you need the cashflow in January, then having Earlybird end in March with no penalty for paying in March, you're fucked as everyone will leave it till the last minute. The phases allow for getting the money in early, while still allowing for those who need longer to pay. Without getting rid of them entirely, the only way to make them work without phases is to just do them for January, then nothing till June. Because there's no official place for this stuff and the vast majority of Wednesday press and social media being anti-Chansiri, the answer never gets publicised enough, so every year we have the same questions popping up. 1 Quote

Understand what you are saying and the reasoning behind it and very well explained but still think could be simplified in some way and the latest early bird is a bit of a p*ss timing wise but suppose we know its coming. I do think the short nature is to implement a price rise but still say we were given the opportunity of a price freeze. Quote

Two of the mates applied for tickets last night, (Thursday) and both separately reported that they'd sold out within an hour. If anyone knows any different, let me know, please. Quote

I do think the short nature is to implement a price rise but still say we were given the opportunity of a price freeze. It's all just urgency. People will have a mental limit on their timing/cost. If you have just 2 earlybird prices, then you'd still end up with the majority waiting, as if you have any reason not to go in the 1st, then it's straight to the second. Once you make that decision, to wait 3 months for £100 or so, it's an easy jump to another 3 months for another £100. With the phases, there's not the all or nothing pressure. Quote
KrolMong Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I’ve been to a couple when he first came in. I think it was the second one that ended up being +4 hours and I decided that was it for me. The biggest issue I had was that there a big proportion who go who are just horrific communicators and don’t know how to ask a question the right way, which then led to DC answering a question that he thought was asked to then have someone 20 minutes later ask the original question again a different way (and rinse and repeat). It really needed a proper compere to almost translate what people were asking, and then in turn help translate the answer back and weed out the duplicates. 3 Quote
Waddle93 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Been once when Jo's was here left when 10th person asked him if he was stopping Westwood and Hutch playing. I'd have happily thrown that fucker straight in the Don. Even if he thought DC was lying he'd already answered that bastard question and wasn't going to suddenly change his answer. Quote

I’ve never been to one of these and never really thought about going to one but as you suggest it would make sense to have someone manage proceeding and not DC. I also think, with this amount of notice the questions people have got can be managed to avoid duplication and also insulting behaviour, like it or lump it. Common courtesy should be expected and business like approach. It happens in other walks of life so why not here. In some ways DC is too open to being grilled when he doesn’t need to be. 2 Quote

HappyOwl Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Is this not an obligation as stated in the annual accounts a bit like having community input and sustainable heating etc he has to do it because it’s just a thing so we are over due one. Not saying it’s going to be pretty but everyone saying what’s he done this for is just stupid No? damned if he does damned if he doesn’t again Quote

So it needs a proper Chair for the event. Questions asked in advance, so you get good ones, Chansiri can prepare responses thereto, helped with the wording thereof to prevent misunderstandings. Perhaps have a limited 30 minutes at the end for any other business 3 Quote

tomcore Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I don't know why he bothers as these events get more idiots each time. I'd need a few pints and a couple of packs of fags to get through all the tedious questions. But fair play to DC, maybe he does them to highlight how silly some of our fans are. Quote

Skamp Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Relationship with DR - why are you not speaking to him and shunning him? January transfer targets/ updates with player names or it's proof that you're not backing DR Ticket prices too high but not high enough for pensioners and the disabled: fuck them Ticket phase timings are always wrong irrespective. There, a summary of the discussion. 1 Quote

mkowl Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Apart from one rumour it's been cancelled, anyone else see this event as akin to driving past an accident on the opposite carriageway. You know you should not look but you can't help but rubberneck but then immediately regret it. It's ridiculous, that what Chansiri could say and indeed how our fans / local media choose to interpret it leaves a sense of trepidation 1 Quote
