mkowl Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Inspired by Zirkzee in a red shirt for Man U last night being ironically cheered when he was subbed off on 33 minutes. Not taking the moral high ground because as a Wednesday fan probably done similar - but what shouldn't you really do as a football fan. So a light hearted thread for the New Year. Hence cheering when one of your players gets subbed goes on the list. I would add my own bug bear of oles. I mean karma is probably not instant - but invariably you can guarantee within the next 6 games at 4 Nil down some opposition fans will be doing the same and then 6 games later they are then ole'd, the circle of football life Quote
Andyben Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 (edited) They were cheering Mainoo coming on as it showed Amorin admitted he'd got the midfield pair wrong Edited December 31, 2024 by Andyben Quote
Otto_Man Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Remember the whole ground cheering when Turner took Beswetherick off after about 15 mins in an awful game against (I think) Grimsby. Also remember a lot of boos when Tidman and Hinchcliffe were stretchered off in (different) cup games, Tidman might have been FL trophy. God those years were a difficult watch 2 Quote

It went wrong pretty much 10 mins into his debut. We’ve had a few like this, Michael Morrison at the time struggled with the expectation, same for Mark Reynolds. Players like Dean Smith, Kim Olsen and Ola Tidman were far far worse. Quote

Skamp Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Goal music Them clappy noise things Singing 'walk on' (if you must) with your scarf upside down Doing a heart shape thing when you've scored Performing a sign of the cross when you come on as sub/score Pretending to be injured so you can be subbed- I'm looking at you Esajis Refusing to do a simple, diving header to keep your team from being relegated - I'm looking at you FJ9, you useless twat I could go on. At Middlesbrough the electronic Thud Thud Thud shite was utterly deafening. WTF? It also went on for ever pre-game. (Or maybe it only felt like it did, due to the mind destroying volume and utter monotony!) We did it on Wednesday but not as bad. I like rock music, which is often loud. This is football, FFS! And another thing: plenty of young kids at games. At gigs and festivals I often see youngsters on their parents shoulders and wearing ear defenders. That's 'cos they're expecting it and they're good parents. Why the **** should they have to think about such things when they take their child to a football match? We've had enough complaints about our ground in recent years. Stop blasting alleged music out at shocking volumes as that's real, not some shit a newspaper made up. Quote

Theman Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Serious question, when did ‘silver lining’ get introduced? I can remember Tricky bringing in Waterfront. The last season ticket I had was 94-95 season, I’m sure silver lining wasn’t being played then, it used to be ‘singing the blues’ and Thompson Twins reworking of ‘you take me up’ 👍 Quote
